American Gods
So it looks like the Neil Gaiman classic novel will finally be making its way to the small screen. With the success of Game of Thrones many fantasy enthusiasts have been looking forward to see which novel will cross over into the main stream next. American Gods happens to be one of my favorites and I am glad to see it getting a real shot at finding success on TV. If you haven't read the book, the quick synopsis on Amazon says-
Shadow is a man with a past. But now he wants nothing more than to live a quiet life with his wife and stay out of trouble. Until he learns that she's been killed in a terrible accident.Flying home for the funeral, as a violent storm rocks the plane, a strange man in the seat next to him introduces himself. The trailer was released at Comic-Con San Diego last week and STARZ seems to be giving the show the talent and directing it needs to succeed. Led by co-creator, writer, and executive producer Bryan Fuller the show has cast a number of familiar faces headlined by Ian Mcshane as Mr. Wednesday. If you haven't seen the trailer yet it is definitely worth a watch-
There have been talks for a few of my other favorites to pop up as TV shows (Wheel of Time and The Kingkiller Chronicles) but those seem far from anything actually happening. Let me know what fantasy novel you think would translate to TV as well.
