I am 100% behind @familyprotection and the great work that all the authors have put in to their articles, some that have been very personnel and some that were written to inform us of the many cases where CPS abused their power. It is such an important initiative that has been set up by @markwhittam and @canadian-coconut.

I have to admit that I have found it difficult to keep up with all the articles being published the last few weeks, there has been so much information put on here.

On top of that I have found it really difficult to read some of them as they are so heartbreaking and so many have had me in tears. I am left feeling a little hopeless and helpless.

The utter cruelty that so many have experienced at the hands of the very people that are meant to protect them is overwhelming.

I was so glad when Mark wrote his article, asking for everyone to find solutions:https://steemit.com/familyprotection/@markwhittam/fight-fire-with-fire-then-we-all-get-burnt-again. Because it had got to the stage where I honestly could not read through the articles, I would upvote and always support the family protection message in the reply section, but the pain and darkness was overwhelming. I really feel that now our energy needs to focus on finding ways to protect families at risk.

We need to create support systems for these families all around the globe and we have this amazing opportunity here on steemit. Because We are this huge Global community that has connected with so many people. We have been exposing how the current Child Protection Services are not working. The evidence is all on here for anyone to see. All this information is now in one place on the blockchain, this is really the first step, bringing awareness.

Raise Awareness

This starts with word of mouth, I know it is not the easiest subject to talk about, but so many people are not aware of what is happening. You donot need to go into details and talk about cases, but it is worth knowing the facts in relation to whatever Country or State you live in. How many families have been terrorized by the CPS?, threatened?, had their children removed?. Ignorance is bliss, so they say but if one person for whatever reason believes a child is at risk, they should know who they are dealing with before they make any phone calls.

In Mark's article I already mentioned guerilla cinema, I have an activist friend in Australia who would go to the city every weekend with her projector and laptop and project images, statistics, website names etc to inform people about racial hate over there. People are drawn to images and anything that is a break from the norm, like this. We are living in the age of technology and some people need to see something on a screen or up big to believe it and take it in. This could be done on the side of buildings. We need to use this addiction that this generation has to screens to our advantage.

Community

Community is so important if we are going to be pro active we need to start locally. So many people do not know the people in their own community or neighbourhood. When we know our neighbours and engage with them regularly their is no place for doubt, fear or segregation. We will see people for who they are, we can then reach out to people to families that need support, so that CPS do not get their claws into them. And if they do get involved then so does the whole community, no one family should have to deal with them alone.

Last month I wrote an article in response to one of the ecotrain questions of the week. which involved finding ways to prevent CPS from doing such injustices to families. I talked about creating a DAPP, a decentralized App that alerts everyone in the community if Social Services or Child Protection Services turn up , in that way anyone who is near by can go to that families house or wherever they may be and stand by them, show a united front. Let Social Services feel intimated and overwhelmed. I do not have the resources to create this, but maybe someone you know can.

Safe Haven

Some families may need to get away and find a Safe Haven. Somewhere, where they can feel safe and supported. There are already many communities in existence around the world that are open to people coming and visiting or helping out. It would be great if we could get a directory together that listed different communities or people with land and facilities that could offer that to families in need. We do not know unless we ask. Lets start to ask!

Where I am staying at the moment, we see alot of families coming through the area and they are places where they can park up if they have a camper or mobile home or sometimes offers of alternative dwellings to stay in. There is a very supportive community of people here and I'm sure it is a place that could be offered as a safe haven.

I really loved @eco-alex's idea of a Multipurpose Website Based on a Social Community Engine, that would provide all the information needed with regards to support networks and on peoples personal experience with CPS. It could also hold the directory of communities open to housing families in need. The directory could not be made public but held on there and shared with the actually families in need once contact has been made..

I have looked at solutions that we can do ourselves, because any change has to come from us.

Being on Steemit has opened my eyes to such a hugely creative and diverse community.

I have read so many inspiring posts, seen so many amazing projects happen and new communities of people come together.

I bear witness to the strengths that we all have and to the change we can all bring about.
