Great post but "I suspect she's never had to solve an equation in her whole life..." Presumes that IQ tests are testing mathmatical ability but it's, of course, more than that.

Now, the govt. Making the decision is a slippery slope perhaps...but specifics in these conversations are very important.

If you are trying to talk policy with someone who fudges facts you don't get anywhere quick... it's better for all involved if everything is on the table we talk about it honestly and use that information to figure out what policies are best to enact. I personally know people with lower IQs and whether it's a direct result of their bad parenting or not they certainly lack judgement in some areas...
