A heart for the Less Privileged. 💗

Part of my experience in Africa has helped to open my eyes to see certain anomalies in the society. There are many desolate children walking the streets of the inner cities both in Africa and other places, and what strikes me is how that we have been blind to these all the while.

When did we get here, how did our society become so callous and caught up in other things that we fail to realize this growing tumor. These children at tender ages have been cut off from love and affection, their innocent hearts have been exposed to the cruelty of this world, most of them are just existing but not leaving, they don't even think about tomorrow no to talk of having hope in the future.

Some of them are driven by their natural intellectual instincts to survive and so we see them doing all manner of things -both good and bad, just for them to survive another day. They see their more privileged mates going to school and can only but wish to be in their shoes.
Many of them have been denied by parents and individuals who brought them into this world. These children have seen harshness and with every passing day's experience, their hearts get harder and harder.

While they find solace and comfort in the company of their friends and fellow less privileged peers, they struggle to maintain wide grins on their faces while cracking jokes in the local languages they could only afford to understand. Some of them have not had good clothes to put on in years, some are just entering in to puberty and have no one to explain what is going on with them. These little ones have known being hungry to be the normal state of feeling.

They have all been pushed to the streets by different circumstances, people, beliefs, traditions and actions. But nevertheless these ones are young, feeble, and shy today but not forever. The things they've learned in the streets would define them in future (if they make it out alive).

And so they would come back to haunt us as touts, armed robbers, prostitutes, fraudsters, kidnappers and so on. And Lord help us they don't come back at us in vengeance.

But something can be done!
Our actions, inaction, reactions, voices, silence, and so on would go a long way in correcting the future. Every one of us -you, me all around the world. If we are privileged enough to be able to at least read this, then we should consider ourselves blessed to make a change. Let us see to it that we sow seeds of kindness, love, attention, care, gifts in our own little ways to the disadvantaged kids in our spheres of contact. Let's not wait for a philanthropist, NGO, government, Church, or other entities to do these, let us share love which can save the future for us.

I am calling on all young people all over the world to take a stand, lend a hand, and give a voice to the motherless, orphans, abused, neglected, and displaced in our communities. Go ahead do all you can, give all you can, and be the best you can be to these ones, because we are the ones who would reap the harvest of these seeds in the near future.
