The Fire and the CPS - A Life Changing Experience - Enjoy with Troy!

in #familyprotection6 years ago (edited)

Often it takes a tragedy in a life to better understand the tragedies of others. The CPS foster care(less) system brings loss and life changing tragedy to many. Yet if you have not been through hell you will not understand the loss of others. Personal tragedy allows us to, from our experiences, reach out and help others and show genuine love. It often takes this experience to change and mold you into the better person you are meant to be.

I recently had one of these experiences that will now consume my time and sadly limit my blogging time on Steemit. I have written two other articles on this for which you can read The Fire! - Update and Humble Request for Prayer and 7 Day Positivity Challenge - Day Two - God Watching Over Us. Here is a brief overview of the experience and how we can relate it to the damage brought by the CPS system, .

The Fire and why I have not been blogging.

I have spent the last week and a half away from where I live helping with the aftermath of a fire at mom's house on May 22, 2018. A faulty dehumidifier caught on fire in the basement. There was smoke damage to the basement and kitchen. Jeff Hofer, a dear friend of mine, and I hauled items from the basement to the garage. It has been a lot of hard work.

We have servePro cleaning up the residue in the basement. The carpet in the bedroom basement is trashed, the insulation is trashed, the exposed drywall will need to be replaced. Two basement windows including an egress window will need replacing. And the items we moved to the garage will need to be cleaned with a dry sponge /chem sponge and perhaps Dawn and then ozoned. It is a long road ahead. Due to our income we had cut corners and did not have insurance on the property at the time of he fire.

60 photos were taken of the damage and I will be posting them soon. We bought the house in 2012 and were so proud of it.

The Fire

The fire occurred at 9:56 PM and mom was on her way to bed. She heard a poping noise or two and thought it was coming from outside...perhaps an animal. Then the smoke alarm went off. She did not know where the noise was coming from. She finally opened the basement door and saw flames down there. She thought she was dreaming and opened it a second time and the flames were larger. She called 911. The Tama police arrived first and they used the fire extinguisher to address the fire. Toledo fire dept arrived shortly thereafter. Mom was looked over in the ambiance and stayed the night at the neighbor's house.

She has been traumatized from all of this. It is a lot on a person who is soon to turn 88. I feel for her and we have both shed tears over it. We have to have a large hydrol machine go in the basement now for the week. It eats a lot of electricity but is supposed to filter the air.

TH FIRE AND THE CPS FILTH

You learn who are your true friends and who are curiosity seekers.

Just as we learned from the fire, who we could count on, so too with victims of CPS. Controversy and uncomfortable scenarios help shed a real light on who are going to be there for you. Real friends roll up their sleeves for you. They take risks and are not afraid to take a stand. They are made of grit. Their comments and promises are backed by love rather than nice words. In the CPS world you need people you can trust and count on to protect you and help watch your back. You need folks who you can trust with your heart. In a non-committal world such are few and far between.

You clean up the soot and work through the residue.

The CPS foster care ponzi scheme leaves a filthy residue of psychological and emotional soot on each person it touches. Just like the smoke damage that penetrated our whole basement left a film of filth, the CPS is the same. The heart needs cleaning. A person will need to work through each tarnished memory that has been exposed to the CPS soot and the cleansing process begins. Restoration of a person's life is a long and tedious journey. With our fire we will have to dry chem sponge each item and/or use Dawn soap. A victims life is the same. Each memory is worked through until a healthy life has been restored.

Environment and surrounding may need to change too.

We had a cleaning company, Serve Pro, come in to deep clean the ceiling, walls and floor. We had to get a hydrol ozone type machine to break up the molecules in the air and produce good clean oxygen air in the basement. So too is the life of the person affected by the CPS. The environment a person lives in and the company of others affect the life of a victim. What good is cleaning your memories if you are going to continue to create negative destructive memories and experience in the world you live. Consider your friends, job, neighbors and where you interact. Do these people lift you up and encourage a positive environment or do they bring negativity to your world? We will not put cleaned items in a filthy basement. Neither should you bring your heart and mental thoughts into a world of filth. Be wise and make good choices.

You make major repairs.

Often one must change or repair major entities in your life after a tragedy. Perhaps you became addicted to alcohol or a major substance while being a foster child. Perhaps you were a victim of physical or sexual abuse. Or even an over eater or hoarder. You may need to give up that drink or behavior to move forward in your life. We will have to put in new insulation, drywall, windows and sump pump. Those are changes with a price tag. But a larger price tag awaits for those who do not make changes. Work through those changes for the reward is worth it for those who do.

Through our personal experiences and tragedies we can grow. We can lift each other up and connect to each other, becoming even stronger. The links and the people are interconnected with love and compassion for one another. That is what @familyprotection is all about. That is also what a Christ like love is. May we grow and support each other with each link be bound in strength.

Glad to see you at least are making some posts. Good luck with everything!

Thanks. I will need to make a number of work trips back to Toledo, IA and continue to roll up my sleeves in the work. When I am there I have sadly LIMITED access to the internet to do real posts. PLEASE CONTINUE TO KEEP MOM AND I iN YOUR PRAYERS. Though we are over two hurdles we have more to go. financial, physical, repairs, cleaning, decisions and legal. Thanks @hope777

I will still pray for sure, there is always some blessings in disguise, although there are more worries, maybe you are busier and keep your attention there instead of on the feelings of depression.
