We Left The Tale During the Aftermath of Our First Beach Day...
The boys were all snuggled in and half passed out, and the men were cleaning up. I tell you, we are some spoiled ladies ❤️
I can't remember what we did after dinner that night, probably because I was beach/sea/food drunk. I don't even know how I got home LOL jk jk.
Yahtzee Night at Our Place
Don't ask me why we love this game so much haha, even the young children know how to play it. I've never seen so many yahtzees either in one week. Seemed like every game we'd get at least 2, on one game almost everyone got one!
@eddiebowes had finally got back from his summer vacation. Making this blog right now, it's hard to believe all of this happened only 7 days ago. I feel like Eddie never had left, and I feel like Steph and Chris have been gone forever we miss them so much! They've only been gone for a few days...
Craig, cuddling with Grayson. We've given him so many grandchildren now...3 human, 36 chicken and 5 feline. I'm sure he couldn't be more proud 😂
The Main Affair
The reason that Steph and Chris always come near the end of August is because Chris and Stryder actually have the same birthday. They're Irish Twins!
Before we get to this...
I'll first share our festivities at the beach, a perfect sunny day, for a birthday Boy and a birthday Uncle ...
I was honoured when Stryder asked me if I would take him on a walk on the beach.
Chris had started his sandcastle of the day as Stryder and I headed out. This time we got to the beach well before high tide, so that we could watch the tide slowly destroy the sandcastle. A bit morbid maybe now that I think of it, but poetic as well.
My Walk With the Birthday Boy
C'mon, let's blow this pop stand.
@alivefoxdeadfox found some cool pinkish purple see weed.
Gotta love finding a handy dandy stick to draw in the sand with.
We saw this lifeguard, I assumed he was practicing or something. There was another lifeguard on the tower, but this guy just got on his board and paddled out forever and ever, I don't think anyone needed rescuing out there...
A Fly By As Well
A very cool rock that winter has done a number on over the years.
By the time we walked to the end of the beach and back (which was a fairly decent trek) Chris had everyone helping with the sandcastle. Which is now a sand fortress.

A Football Match & Playing in the Ocean
They had a great time out there on the raft, jumping off of it, throwing people off of it (accidentally of course).
Let's Play Some Foosball!
Yes I said Foosball, I'm watching The Waterboy right now in the background as I type this, lol, such a great movie. Who told you you was a Voigo?
Need I any more proof that Steph is the best Auntie in the world. She is just so rad...even plays football with them.
Stryder kicking off...
Shall We Party?
Mmmmm....Steph made an Oreo Cake for the birthday boys, damn it was good and so creative!
Stryder wanted to cut it...we let him, though there was concern in everyone's eyes LOL!
As Eddie's great great grandmother would say: Eat While You're Skinny!
Gift Time!
I just love these next pics, Stryder was so excited to get what he got from @hendrix22...
Deadpool!
Stryder wears costumes all year around, and was asking for a Deadpool costume for like a year now. Brendan had to find it online from the USA. It's a bit big, but awesome quality.
Aw, and this is it...our final match of Yahtzee...the next morning Chris, Steph and Charlie left for their long drive back home.
Until next Year...Love and Miss You Both So Much!
Lmao.. 100% UV for the Waterboy refrence
Oh man! You guys have so much energy! All these beach and water activities. I would pass out before dinner, lol!
I love the way you're sharing your memories Lyndsay! It's like your diary :)
And I'd have a piece of cake! LOL
Thanks, that's what I'm going for, memorializing our times together on the #STEEM blockchain. I share these blog posts with my family online, and their friends read/see the photos too.
Maybe one day my children will find these posts, when they're all grown up...
I haven't shared my blog with my family yet :) I might do it one day..
I'm sure they will be so proud of you when they find them! And they will love you more than ever when they will see with how much love you put in your posts.
😊 😊 😊
Family, the beach, super heroes, AND Waterboy? Lol Those things are the best!
I think that's why it took me 2 hours to make the post, I was laughing my ass off the whole time.
I've never heard the term "Irish twins" before!
I would like to see the beach again someday, hopefully when it's nice enough to play in the water. ;)
Board games are awesome! 😃 Well ok, yahtzee is a dice game, same diff, it lives in a box next to Monopoly and Risk. 😉
I hope you get to a nice hot beach one day soon too Phe, you deserve it!
Do you have any Irish Twins that you've known throughout your life?
My uncle and brother share a birthday, but, you know, decades apart. 😉
Looks like a blast! We share a Yahtzee affinity - I was at a small kind of family meet up a few weekends ago and Yahtzee entered the picture somehow. I hadn't played in years but by the time I had gotten back to Vermont I was trying to get all my room mates to play Yahtzee in the living room
Hell of a sand castle too :)
Niiiice, and are your roomies playing yet? Do you guys every play triple yahtzee? Oooh it's nasty.
I don't think I know the difference between triple yahtzee and regular yahtzee? But no, they are not. They kind of give me a weird look whenever I ask but I know if I actually got them to play it would be a whole different story
Throw in a prize for the winner! That'll get em going. Or get everyone to put a pot together.
Triple yahtzee is where you can keep scoring each additional yahtzee that you get. For the 2nd one you get 100 points. The 3rd you get 200 points, and if you can roll a 4th you get 300 points for it. Basically if you're playing it with those rules, and someone even rolls a second yahtzee they are unbeatable and you just hang your head in shame waiting for the slaughter fest to end.
I'm going to keep trying. And god damn! I don't think I've ever witnessed a fourth, or maybe even a third, yahtzee in my life. Sounds like y'all have some incredible dice tossing skills :)
I've never seen a 4th. I did roll 3 in one game however, and in that same game Opa rolled 2. That was a wild night!!
I guess when I saw "never" I mean in my recent memories. Back when I was a kid, I played tons, and I'm sure we had some wild ones!! Three is pretty fox-ing impressive though
Family life is the most wonderful gift of the God and this is a complete an awesome family gathering. Happy Birthday to the innocent souls <3
so sweet! and yahtzee and the cake and the boys))
btw I need to google what yahtzee is, I've never heard about it;)
seems to be smth very interesting!
adore family games!
It is a game played with five dice.
What games do you like to play?
I like backgammon:)
My dad taught me, he is a master of it, and I remember we played much in my childhood;)sweet memories;)
is it popular in Canada?
I have heard stories that my Grandfather used to play backgammon, I don't know the game though...I'd be interested to play it!
aha...Father..Grandfather...much in common;)
put your chess upside down and it's backgammon;)
but the game field and rules are different;)
It's a beautiful life. I love that you embrace it the way you do. Thanks for the little look inside.
Thank you for looking in and seeing the love @allseeingewe :) xo
@lyndsaybowes, I have no more words to saying now. Absolutely brilliant moments you all participated with smart looking party.
Thank you for visiting, as always, Mr @madushanka!
The oreo cake looked awesome! I think the vacation was probably too short. Perhaps they can make it longer next year! That was a really awesome Deadpool costume! Great job finding it, Brendan!
They are thinking about moving here next June!!!!!!!!
That would be totally awesome! More Yahtzee anyone!
