Once our kids reached two years old, they started to explore writing and sketching skill. It is very important to teach them the Do's and Don't's unless we are ready to accept an artistic wall painting. Furthermore, parents need to provide them with the right tools to write or draw. Parents need to make sure they are mentally ready as well, as the process could be really messy and dirty.

当我的两位小情人两岁多时，她们就开始学习写画的技巧。身为父母的我们需要常支持跟鼓励她们，尽量帮助她们学习这技巧。这时候我们也应该开始教导他们什么可以做，什么是不可以做，除非我们可以接受家里的墙壁都是涂鸦。给予孩子学习写画的工具也是很重要的。父母也要有心理准备，因为这学习过程肯定会很凌乱和肮脏。

Set Example

Toddlers like to imitate the adults. Their observation and learning speed is very fast. Writing in front of them will create their curiosity on writing. Whenever they have the chance to write, they will try. We prepared a scratching book for our kids. When we want to write, we will let them sit beside us, with a pencil, and let them do some scratching on the book while we are writing.

小孩的个性就是喜欢模仿。他们的注意力和学习能力有非常的快。父母可以常常在他们面前写东西，这肯定会对他们产生兴趣。当有机会，他们就会自己尝试写画了。我跟太太常会准备一本簿子专门让他们写画。当我们写东西时，让他们坐在我们身边，给他们一支笔，让他们模仿我们写东西。

The Right Toys

In the beginning, it will be a challenge for them to control the writing or drawing tools. So, to help them on this, we encouraged them to spend time on toys that able to develop their strength and movement of their hands, such as blocks related toys that encourage constructions and bead maze toys that enable them to move the object from one end to another. Other activities such as grabbing and throwing a ball, pressing a button, basically any activities that encourage the toddlers to use their hand and fingers will help too.

选择适合的玩具，例如乐高或串珠之类的玩具，都可以训练他们的手和手指的灵活性。或者可以陪他们玩一些抛球的游戏也可以让他们练习手的灵活性。

Fork and Spoon

This is the part that parents need to be patient. Letting toddlers handle fork and spoon will them to learn the skill of holding a tool. Of course, parents have to make sure those are toddles-friendly fork and spoon. The process might be very messy and dirty, so we need to do the necessary make the cleaning job easy.

这就是需要到父母耐心的地方了。放手让孩子们学习用餐具吃东西可以很快的让他们学习到如何紧握在手上的工具。当然我们要让他们使用那些适合孩子的餐具来训练。过程肯定会们乱七八糟，过后清理也要一段时间。不过为了孩子，辛苦一点又算什么。

Encouragement

Support from parents is very important in their development. Even they are just scratching around, we need to tell them some words of encouragement. They feel happy and will continue to scratch. If some of their scratches look like a shape or alphabets, try to take the opportunity to praise and show them that they have scratched a shape or an alphabet.

鼓励
父母的鼓励是孩子们的强心针。就算他们只是乱画一场，我们也必须称赞他们的艺术品，艺术品是因为我们怎么看都不明白他们画的是什么。当我们称赞他们，他们就会很开心的继续画。如果他们画出一些形状或像一些字体，就趁机会跟他们说：好棒哟，你话出圆形啦！

Different Types of Drawing Tools

Toddlers can get bored easily. Letting them use different kind of scratching tools will be able to maintain their interest in writing and scratching. Tools such as pencil, crayon, chalk, colour pencil or even using their fingers to draw on sand can help them generate their interest.

小孩通常很容易就对一样东西觉得闷。让他们接触不同的文具可以让他们对写画的兴趣继续燃烧下去。一时让他们用铅笔，蜡笔，水彩，粉笔，颜色笔或者用他们的手指在沙上画东西也是不错的选择。

This learning processes needs a lot of effort and patient from the parents. Try to make the process fun so that parents and toddles can enjoy together.
