There is a "hard fork" coming up sometime, the hope is to make this a more business oriented platform. I am just along for the ride, I like that I am earning crypto without spending dollars. Even if it goes up and down in wild swings, I just don't care. It is still more than I make on facebook lol!

I upvote all the posts I like, I have a few people on autovote because I know they do good work consistently, and all replies to my posts. You get "curation rewards" based on those voting interactions, and the upvotes cost you nothing. They come from a "reward pool" that is generated daily, and if not spent, is sort of wasted. That is why I use the autovoter, to make sure I am at least making a few upvotes even when I am not online. I have to get on that site and get you added to my autovoter, now that I think about it.
