At what age should we start teaching kids sex education?
WE should all start calling "Sex education" what it actually is..
Proper parenting.
As soon as a kid is smart enough to understand speech, parents should start instilling knowledge of sexuality and decency into them. THIS SHOULD NOT BE DONE IN A CLASSROOM!!!
sex education is a very dynamic topic that encompasses many different aspect of a person's life.. A child should be taught how to treat another from the opposite gender not just in terms of sexuality but in relationship as well as common decency.
that "bee and flower" talk should come hand in hand with teaching your boy to open the door for the girl.
Another reason why "sex education" should start as early as possible too is because parents to should teach them how not to let other treat them.. "dont let strangers touch your bum" etc.....
while young kids should be taught about their body parts, more complicated matters should be taught slowly as the child progresses into puberty.. I would rather much prefer to know about masturbation from either my father who tells me what it actually is or by him showing me educational content from reputable source. I'd take that over figuring it out myself anytime. Same applies to daughters and their mothers.
I come from a rather conservative society myself (my family were somewhat liberal, thank God for that) and I can honestly say that taboo and stigma achieves nothing. Kids will learn about it eventually and its up to the parents to decide what source of education should the child receives. Better to learn from people who means well than porn movies that implies all sorts of weird stuff..

@awesomianist at the age of 4-5 we should teach them not to show or touch their genitals organs in public places. At the age of 7-8 we should teach them about puberty and existence of sex. At the age of 10 we should teach them details of biological parts, hormones, menstruation, fertilization. At the age of 13-14 we should teach them about sex information and their needs. And at the age of 15-16-17-18 we should teach them regularly about more information like Sexual transmitted diseases, protection, and pregnancy.
exactly.. but its a continuous thing and not a step 1 step 2 step 3 thing.. It depends of the inquisitiveness of the child and how we are able to convey the information..
Yes ... we can not teach and share them all information in a single dose...we have to do it in stepwise according to development of their mind and intelligence.
At the age, when we become 12-13 our internal system get hijacked by some hormones and it is very hard to get out of it, yes, it is natural. One can't stop natural phenomenon unless we put a cap to control it in a very proper manner. We should teach them as how to control such natural phenomenon and be more focused on the way they choose to follow. In present day some may advice that every educational institutions should teach about sexuality education, but putting sexuality education on the curriculum is not a proper solution, I think so. We put sexuality education in curriculum, but do we put some basic teachings to stabilize our hormones ? I think no. What we do is, we just appoint and print some books to teach sexuality education, and yes, this would not going to work properly. Unless and until, according to me, meditation and some inner engineering put into our curriculum none of such programs will gonna work in a very efficient manner. As meditation is for inner well being and stabilizes you by many percent. It is my personal view.
putting sexual education in a institutionalized class is never the right thing to do.. though it should not be tabooed, it should be personal, every child have different reaction and level of understanding of their bodies and sexuality..
Yeah, it is true that every child have different reaction and level of understanding of their bodies and sexuality, but, these understanding could be altered, as we all have chemical basis of life and it could be altered through inner science.
