That this image of an ant carrying a dead bee which weighs 40 times as much as the ant appeared in the UK press recently with the headline 'Un-bee-lievable'. Ants can actually lift 100 times their own body weight, the equivalent of a human lifting three cars.

That surgeons have removed 27 contact lenses from the eye of a 67-year-old woman who had come to Solihull Hospital in the UK for routine cataract surgery. A bluish foreign body turned out to be a hard mass of 17 lenses stuck together with mucus and 10 more were then found under further examination. A report said she had worn disposable lenses for 35 years, and had not complained of any irritation, but after they were removed she said her eyes felt a lot more comfortable.

That much like we do with the Romans, we could say 'what did the Vikings ever do for us ?'. Many everyday words such as egg, skirt, bag, window, sky, skin, leg and skull have their roots in Viking Norse. Other words the invaders brought with them are angry, happy and ill as well as the basic verbs give, take, get and call.
