Will Facebook Migration Ever Happen?

Hello Steemit Community!

Glad to be here after waiting several months; and enjoying several stories shared by people on this platform already. Social Networks are an 'area' of mine, where I do a heavy amount of business consultation. I do most of my best work with in the realm of marketing and do feel that I've helped contribute to the wave of 'smart marketers' who gladly embrace social media platforms.

We simply never know where we'll find that person who'll see our product, try our service and end up becoming our #1 fan. At the same time, we also have to be careful not to drive potential fans away!

What does any of that have to do with Facebook Migration?

Simply put, I feel that marketers really helped make Facebook into the platform that it has become. Literally everyone was the mouthpiece for their platform and undoubtedly they continue to deliver. It is an amazing technological feat that I'm glad to have witnessed.

However, just like Myspace something else will supplant Facebook.

Will SteemIt be it?

Something I wrote recently about 'network marketing' which is just one area of the marketing umbrella.

Facebook Is Dead For Network Marketing

But that doesn't always mean that other networks are going to be the place for them to go either. For several months now, I've been 'on the outside' with unpopular opinions about an industry I'm very fond of. I believe in the business model, but not always the companies or the business leaders.

Moreso, I'm often let down by the people in it themselves. Just the other day, Dr. Boyce Watkins shared his thoughts on this industry, which remains controversial at best. Here is why he's not a fan ....

It would be dishonest for me to say that I was happy about that video. Dr. Boyce is a strong voice for black entrepreneurship which often comes with roadblocks. It's often difficult to get business loans, and there is the learning curve all of which can be overcome. I feel that often what many people need is some sort of 'business course' that helps transition them from being an Employee that clocks in for a check, and a bonafied business owner.

It's one of the reasons that Robert Kiyosaki's talk of Cashflow Quadrants and Network Marketing have always stuck with me.

He said, that the industry itself is a great way for a person to make the 'mental transition' that is required. It totally is a shift in thinking, to go from looking for linear income to earning residual income.

Again, what does all of this have to do with Facebook Migration?

Simply put, "Word of Mouth Marketing" is what grew facebook, twitter, instagram, and snapchat. It is what will grow any other platform that hopes to compete within that social network space. Marketers, are usually involved in all these 'shifts', that even Gary Vaynerchuk recently spoke about in "How Successful People Think."

Shifts are happening, and this is a truly exciting time.

Glad you have decided to try our little spot on the web. Ive been on a few more than a few sites and Steemit is nothing like any of them. Stick around, you will see. I followed :)

Followed you back. Honestly Cryptocurrency brought me here to Steemit; which as you pointed out is a Unique factor within the social network space; I've also been on far too many social networks! lol Several have failed to stick around but they at least moved the ball closer to the goal :)

Thanks for the follow! I did the same

@topnetworkeral I think it is dead. Every time I screen a film more people show up thanks to my postcards than due to facebook ads.

I honestly feel like even Twitter is better than facebook right now; and boy does this Steemit Platform have potential? We'll probably never see the day where tangible postcards aren't still effective however. Ultimately Facebook is making too much money from content people put on it; not giving back could be their downfall.

This is the conversation I have every day at work @topnetworkeral. The truth is that Facebook will always have a never ending supply of people willing to post content on their service without being paid. They will never have any need to pay their contributors and so those of us who create content must go elsewhere! Whether it is Steemit or another new social media site, we will all move. Follow Me :-)

the poor will always be among us? lol :) -- I Hear ya! - thanks for the comment as well; totally agree with you. Facebook just may stand the tests of time afterall, since people sell themselves for so little!
