Becoming an Ether node on the Status closed alpha pt 1

I've been waiting all day to make this post (haven't seen much traffic) but here goes nothing.

Yes there are so many things going on in this app that I'm going to have to do two posts about this.

For one it's still in closed alpha so some of their apps will require some extra research, also so I can go more in depth on some of the apps without creating a ridiculously long post.

Side note Status is decentralized... Pretty much everything here is decentralized so to avoid gratuitous use of the word decentralized, its all decentralized 😏

Status

I spent my afternoon yesterday syncing my phone as we both became eth nodes. This app is really so much more than just messaging yet everything is set up like a messenger.

This is the first screen you see when you open the app (on your first time you will have some random and truly inventive name assigned to you, and you will see the notification that your phone is syncing to the network)

When you open your taken to your chats...and I was busy going through everything as u can see😁

After clicking on contacts and apps this is the full list of apps currently shown. So lets begin with the first.

Now before I actually open Auction house I wanted to point out how everything is really based on a messenger format. You click the button on the bottom right to pull up the menu and execute the command.

Also if you look on the bottom right there is a full screen option (blocked by my signature...sry 😅)

So Auction house is like an exchange, with a twist, its for the rare tokens. Any token that is deemed too valuable or rare for a traditional exchange can be traded here in form of an auction.

There are currently two auctions listed, one closed and the other with a minimum of 100k Eth.....😶....I'll try to transfer money from my savings but that'll that three days....so I'll be back

Augur with their decentralized market prediction system!!!! Not what I thought, but better. This is pretty much a betting hall where it looks like anyone can place a bet and anyone can play on it.

I'll put 1000 Eth on yes, how about you? 😂

And the browser works just ask expected, even went to visit my favorite site.

CommitETH is a really cool concept, I love this. Bounties can be placed on any issues that need solving or even in the search of a new way to preform a task. Anyone that is signed up with the necessary skill can attempt to collect on the bounties.

The console is pretty self explanitory, you confirm your number, debug...but wait is that a faucet command? 😎

Then you have Dentacoin access directly from the app, where you can purchase, sell or use. I'll give more info on pt 2.

Etherplay is just like is sounds Ethereum games, but as has been true with everything so far in this app, with a twist.
You can actually earn money while playing!!!

Ethlance doesnt seem ready for the closed alpha and wouldn't open. I'll try to get some info for pt 2

First blood, just the name intrigued me. And I fought hard....to try to get in...But nothing 😤
It seems to still be closed and without a registered email and code, no luck.

Flight delays sucks, I should stop saying I love this concept cuz I love them all, but this guy here will save all travelers money. Flight gets delayed or cancelled? Don't worry the money is already in your wallet! 😎 more info in pt 2
