Steem Monsters Season 4 is ending today + Biggest tournament yet + Bigger than Steemit.com but not bigger than Steem.
Can't believe we are already ending Season 4 for Steem Monsters.
Time sure flies when you are having fun!
Instead of Beta packs this time players will be rewarded in so called 'reward cards'.
There are some good cards in the reward collection but the most fun I had was with this guy:
Even though he has no attack he can be extremely annoying for your opponent as a tank (with a healer) or as the last defender with all his defence abilities.
He's also worth around $2,50.
You can buy this guy on the Steem Monsters market or you can sell him if you get him as a reward!
One important thing I learned today is that the reward does not depends on where you end your ranking this season It's calculated over the highest league you where in at some point during the season.
This season we also saw the birth of Manual Tournaments and I was fortunate enough to win the first one.
It made playing games and the opportunity to earn money (I won $35) very realistic for me.

Bigger than Steemit.com? I think so. But of course not bigger than Steem.
Yesterday, I made a post that I believe Steem Monsters will be bigger than Steemit.com in 2019.
I got some comments from people not looking forward to this, because they don't like games.
But what you have to realise is that Steem Monsters is just an app on the Steem Blockchain.
In other words. Steem Monsters might become bigger than Steemit.com but nothing is bigger than Steem (the blockchain).
Other apps won't disappear. In fact they will benefit when Steem Monsters (or any other app) is successful in attracting outside users and revenue.
The STEEM token will get extra demand and there will be more eyes on the blockchain, equaling more eyes on other apps and possible users for them.
Also Steem Monsters is the only app that solves the onboarding problem. Instead of figuring out how it all can be done for free they just let the user pay for it in the form of a Starter Set and it's perfectly justified and understood.
Across the board, the success of Steem Monsters is a win win situation for the whole blockchain.

I really find it so super cool that the steem blockchain that such abilities for totally different stuff. So yes, even though if you are a hardcore blogger and you dont like games, you dont have to be bothered by it. Otherway aroudn as well, if you are a game person and you are not into blogging, also zero issues. But in the end all of these options will make the blockchain thrive, and that is what it is all about.
Reached gold 3 yesterday, see if i can today can catch a quest still and raise the rank a bit before season ends!

Steem Monsters also has a great roadmap to integrate into the ecosystem with much more than just games. The lore behind it all can also prove to be engaging from a content perspective as they intend to deploy stories using the blockchain. Forums will also be here soon with tokenbb which is a great way to start something using the community formed here before deploying throughout the ecosystem.

When I first came to steemit I didn't put my interest in steemmonster. But after seeing a huge community playing it regularly and getting reward grow my interest.
I am not a game person. But I totally agree that it's gonna take over 2019.

I can't believe it is almost the end of season 4 myself. It seems like just the other day we were finally able to battle and not just look at our cards. I am pretty excited to see where Steem Monsters goes in the future. It would be awesome to see a lot of new users come on board and drive the price of Steem up. I haven't had the chance to enter one of the manual tournaments yet, but the reward pools certainly make it look attractive!
I think Steemit is like the oxygen for @steemmonsters :P

So @exyle will all the cards given out at the end of a season will be from the reward deck? I have 45 coming to me and il end up with 45 vampires! Watch! Bit miffed I can’t grow my non reward card collection. I have been doing quests every day for the last couple of weeks so my reward cards are doing just fine . There is no real stand out card apart from the guy you showed there. Vampire and the little red goblin are not great. The only good one is mushroom from the earth splinter so I’m a bit disappointed. Now I need to level up my normal cards so the only way to do this is to buy on market ? Not ideal. If they gave out 40 normal cards at least the bronze and gold leagues could grow.
