30 DAYS of Something TO-DO✔️

Today I did something I've never done before: I made myself a To-Do list. Why? Something just clicked in my head when I realized I have bunch of different posts "in the process". Some of them being really old, like months...

Motivation, motivation... where have you gone?

Many times I've heard of making a simple to-do list to get things done. I remember Jordan Petterson saying that goal oriented behaviour is connected to positive emotions. But I've never actually followed that simple advice.

"Well, let's make the goddamn goals clear on paper then, and see where it'll lead us."

This is very much against my spontanious nature that of a like my posts have also been recently. I'm not stopping spontanious posts if I come up with some but I figured I'll have to make some effort if what I aspire should become true, like being in charge of my own life and not needing a 9-5 job. For the rest of life at least.

Though I have done something similar earlier already when I joined @arbitrarykitten's manifestchallenge a while ago; it was great and I was happy I did it.

So, the next 30 days I'll try to get some of my shit together and do stuff utilizing a To Do -list.

Daily:

  • Coding (Python) - Coding is something I've developed some interested in and I have started learning Python. I'll make it a habit of learning it at least for a quick 10 minutes every day.
  • Reading Victory of Capital by Ulrike Herrmann - Illuminating about the misconenceptions about capitalism and what it really is. This shouldn't be hard one to execute since this is really interesting.
  • Meditation - Something I've already practiced but making it a daily habit can't do any harm.
  • Cleaning at least ONE useless thing from my room - Just to maintain a non-chaotic environment.
  • FREE WRITING! - I'll pick up this writing exercise again, provided by @mariannewest.

Weekly:

  • Update about my progress.
  • Running - Way too long since I've last time taken a run.

For the 30 day period:

  • About 7 different projects/posts that have experienced little to no progress.

What to expect?

Filling up my schedule. Leading to hopelesness when I'll feel like I have no time or energy when I get back home from my uninspiringly boring civil service day which already takes 8 hours every Monday to Friday. But it's not like I have anything better to do with no responsibilities (on top of the civil service that is) on my free time, so better make some sacrifices while I still can.

But I'm also expecting satisfaction for picking up running again - since the manifestchallenge - once a week every Monday, and seeing the progress I can make with my fitness. Perfect cure for the Sunday blues. Oh shit... I have an evening shift on Mondays'. Never mind; let's make it Tuesday so my Monday won't be completely bloated.

I'm interested to see whether I can get the gratification of completing and crossing tasks from my To-Do list.

Not to be complitely miserable, I'll reward myself with an episode or two of Vikings Season 4 every once in a while after I've put in a good amount of effort into my tasks. You gotta have a some "carrot" for incentive, you know.

Will YOU join?

I'm no @gtg but I'm sure you wouldn't deny his invitation for an adventure.

Feel free to join me and make a To-Do list of your own and report your progress down in this or future update post's comment section. I know this could work as a catalyst for someone else who also might've been thinking or wanting to be more productive and such. I'd like to read someone else's experiences too.

Later,

:D I never do well with to-do list ! I have been meaning to code but without a proper focus, I can't even do that!!

I crave for meditation and running!

Well, meditation can be as simple as just closing your eyes and observing your thoughts or focusing on your breath. There are many ways to do it!

Yeah right! I think it's doable everywhere as long as you're focused. I think it's also the best way to spend time while waiting something.

Exactly! Sometimes when a train is too crowded for reading, I take a brake and close my eyes for a minute.

very cool post! I love all your to-do's -especially meditation - amazing!! lol freewriting also well worth the time. I wish you the best of luck !
Great Minds think alike and I will certainly join you!!
