Learn to exert your best effort.

Excellence is to exert your best effort. Not being the best but by doing the best. Some might say that excellence is being the best. Maybe not so because if it is being the best--a bar top notcher, the most outstanding student, the best employee, a boxing champion, Miss universe, etc. --then, only a few may excel. The truth is, excellence is for everyone who does their best in what they does.

Letting the result take care of itself, doing your best at the moment. These are the secret of success that is non-attachment to results.

One time when my children came to me with their worry face and gave their periodical exam result which was not very good and impressive, i asked them "did you both do your best? " and they answered "yes". "Then it's good enough", i said.

My children belong to the top student in their class now. But this accomplishment of them is not equal in importance to their commitment to true excellence. They continues to do their best in everything that they does.

We use only a small portion of our ability, most likely. Although we can do more, this is true with so many of us. Doing more, however, should not be enough. If we believe in excellence we have to give our big shot.
