Is Ethereum a Good Long Term Investment?
Hi investors, let's talk about Ethereum.
Ethereum.
Ethereum's gas token ETH has been bleeding out the eyeballs since hitting an all time high price of $1400 back in January 2018, losing close to 90% of its value in the process.
Whether this decline is due to a change is sentiment or to ICO firesales is still up for discussion, the trend is bearish and, if we believe technical analysis, ETH could very well go as low as $100/pop before hitting proper counter-force.
Meanwhile, the Ethereum ecosystem is teeming with activity.
Casper and sharding (dubbed Ethereum 2.0) are about a year away and it has been reported that the platform is attracting around 50,000 new developers each month, effectively putting it way ahead of the competition with regards to its network effect.
Once sharding is implemented (expected to be sometime in 2020), anyone holding 32 ETH in a staking account will then be able to become a shard validator and earn passive income in the form of ETH for their work to secure the network.
For all its flaws and bugs, Ethereum, just like Bitcoin, has proved surprisingly resilient and secure in the face of adversity, making it it antifragile under the definition of Nassim Taleb:
Some things benefit from shocks; they thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors and love adventure, risk, and uncertainty. Yet, in spite of the ubiquity of the phenomenon, there is no word for the exact opposite of fragile. Let us call it antifragile. Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same; the antifragile gets better"
If Ethereum realizes its full potential and becomes the backbone of the New Internet, then this:
Might two years from now end up being regarded as the time of maximal financial opportunity.
So, what's it gonna be? Is the investment worth it at this point in time?
Until next time,
FØx.

I with I knew... with these Cardano, Stellar or EOS ecosystems, there will be a stiff competition for sure

Ethereum's security and network effect will prevail in the long run I think, but yeah competition is going to be fierce!
Nice analysis. I agree ETH will do very well in the long run.
Hopefully but competition is going to be fierce.

Etherium can not die, the current market condition is down not only for Etherium bot also for all type of crypto. Etherium have support of Etherium Enterprise Alliance which are big companies, Never forget that in year May 2010 Bitcoin value was $0.01 USD.
Up and Down is the part of market rules, if anybody believe in technology and invested in Etherium must HOLD on because it is tough time.
Holding is always a good strategy but Ethereum is facing stiff challenges.
