ETHACKATHON Paris - March 2019
ETHackathon is a community event organized by members and enthusiasts of the Ethereum ecosystem. People volunteer to set up Ethereum conferences in hopes of developing awareness, help developers understand the inner workings of the ecosystem to spark curiosity and experimentation. Most hackathons involve innovative technical lectures and workshops on the recently developed application on the Ethereum blockchain to showcase its flexibility of application.
EthParis was held between the 8th and 10th of March, 2019. In term of diversity, both application and ethnicity-wise, the conference had several immensely talented group of people dive deep into applications they had developed. A major focus of the event was the experimentation and development of dApps.
Some of the talks that caught our eye were:
- An understanding of Quorum - JP Morgan’s enterprise-focused DLT built on Ethereum
- Usage of substrate to build customizable blockchain on top of the Ethereum network
- Introductions to Oracalize 2.0 - A talk about connecting data from outside the blockchain to smart contracts within the blockchain, ensuring effortless execution
- Staring an Ethereum Node - How to efficiently use a node, customize protocol and adapt to the changing environment
- A debate on SONICs and SNARKs - Battle between the two major privacy protocols
- Introduction to OUTSPACE - A protocol for off-chain transactions which are one-directional
Conference such as these are really important for the ecosystem as they introduce the audience to a wide array of ideas and applications. Furthermore, conferences are also a base for talent from all sectors to come together and for connections that end up using the growth.
