New Space MMORPG - CSC:Alpha - Crypto Space Commanders - How to get start earning Ethereum in new PC game!

What has happened in the last year that has been worth posting about?

Nothing good, really... COVID-19, Record breaking unemployment, the world is on fire, the % of ocean that is plastic is ever increasing, the ice caps are still melting, etc...

But wait, I have good news.

How would you like to earn some Ethereum from playing a computer game?

The other day I was looking at a new game to play because I used to enjoy MMORPGs quite a bit, I used to play Eve Online but stopped because I felt like grinding to pay my subscription was more work than play.

Enter CSC: Alpha - Crypto Space Commander.

Browsing through Steam I came across this space mmorpg that looked rad. It was also free to download and play.

The interesting thing about this game is that in the reviews I noticed people talking about making money from playing.

At first I thought it was nonsense but I downloaded and have been playing it the last few days.

This game is awesome, the community rocks, and the game plays very similar to Eve Online but that is where the similarity stops.

This game does not require you to pay anything to play.

You don't have to keep paying money to keep training your skills. In fact as of right now there are no skills.

You progress your pilot in CSC by learning blue prints, building bigger badder ships, trading goods, transporting, and/or manufacturing ships and modules for other players.

In CSC can spend your time earning money to keep for profits instead of earning money just to pay your game subscription, because there is no game subscription!

The entire economy is player based. Every single module you use on your ship is crafted by a player.

The crafting is uncapped, meaning items will always be getting better, and also meaning that if you are the first person to craft the next tier of a popular item, you could have a monopoly on that item until someone else is able to "out-craft" you.

There are plenty of pvp systems called "Fringe Space" where you can PvP with other ship commanders.

It is possible to lose your ship and modules in this game if you are in fringe space and your ship is not insured. This also means there is great opportunity to come up for the risk taking captain.

There are 2 currencies in game:

GRP - The in game currency used for buying selling and what you get from most missions.

GFC - The premium currency that you can buy/sell for ETH.

Soon ETH will be the 3rd in game currency once they add the eth marketplace in game you will be able to buy and sell things with it just like you can with GRP and GFC.

Until then you can still buy and sell items using ETH by using the online marketplace for rare items called OpenSea.io.

This game allows you to mint your in game digital assets to the Ethereum blockchain, this gives you ownership of your items instead of the game devs, this also allows you to trade the item on digital marketplaces outside of the game.

The first thing you want to do as a new pilot is do your GFI assignments because that is how you will work your way up to get some ships other than the skipper.

The skipper may not be the best but it is fast and so you can use it to complete your first few GFI assignments rather quickly.

When in the station, open your "GFI Network" then click assignments, accept the assignments and then you will be able to read the mission info.

Click on the location and it will open up your navigation map. Now you can travel to that location.

If you click travel FTL, you will want to then select "Gate Travel" which will be much shorter than an FTL trip

I hope that helps explain getting started and traveling a little bit because I know as a new player it can be a bit overwhelming since there is SO much to learn.

The goal of this article is to introduce you to the game and show you how to start progressing. It will be up to you whether you want to mine, trade, craft, fight, pvp, transport, or whatever.

Here is what you need to do in order to transact with eth:

Download metamask so you can earn or spend eth on opensea.io.

Once you've set up your meta-mask wallet then you can link your metamask wallet to Opensea.io but for now just give the game a try and let me know in the comments what you think.

And I will add a couple of links to ships for sale on opensea.io right now in case you want to start out with something better than what the game gives new players.
