Let's Take a Step Back- Concerns about Steemit.

Okay, I must say you have made me reconsider everything right now. I have had some feelings about how Steemit is not really decentralized but have tried to see the positive in all of this.
I do agree that whales have all the power when it comes to bringing someone to the top of the feed. There is also an unfair system because we cant really "follow' anyone. The system is disorganized and is drawing too much attention for some really important posts to get attention.
Absolutely. You bring up a very good point when it comes to following that I've forgotten to mention- if we were actually able to "follow", then we would see certain people's posts more and have the opportunity to gain eachother's upvotes much more easily than by taking a chance that someone will catch it in the "new" category, before it slides away.
It'll take some work for this platform to become serious, so we'll have to wait and see how far the developers really hope to take this puppy. If it goes far, then at least we're here already, so that can't hurt :)

Thanks! I'm already feeling very different after just a day. There is certainly already a sense of clarity...which has caused me to be a bit more humorous and sarcastic in everything I say at work. Glad it's already doing good! I keep talking about doing another liquid only fast. And my wife is getting me a nutribullet for my birthday - so maybe I'll do so then. It was either that or another video card to do more mining.. But I want to treat my body right first and then everything else will be taken care of.
Truly who cares what cryto currencies are doing...
Steemit is here with a social mission, that they pledge to pay us for our efforts, something none of the competition is doing.
So let me focus on building my interests here and let the trash either profit or rot as we build our reputation, networks and social standings...
Personally i had no interest in BTC b4 Steemit, so these newer shadows are of absolutely no interest since they have neither history or a proven value.
Regardless do what you feel you are comfortabe with, because those who are interested in comparing are primarily trading markets speculators; but these crypto currencies are to new to predict.
So people trying to pretend they understand or predict these new currencies are as delusional as people who trade Gold in ounces when countries trade gold in tons, but think of themselves as experts or market makers; the answer avoid closing your mind in the casino and betting on the roulette wheel and expecting to win.
After all there are always those who believe in 'get rich quick schemes', but always better to try and avoid real effort by a crafted marketing schemes...
Indeed. Very good points, you bring up. I'm totally with you in that Steemit is bringing many new people into even caring about cryptocurrency, so there is no way to knock it for that. I'm, for one, very grateful. However, steemit seems to be having difficulty keeping up with the rate of incoming users, and 12,300 users, or so, is not very much.
However, let's just invest, as you say, in what we feel comfortable in. This is totally indeed just a giant roulette table, but there will be quite a few options for winning, perhaps :)

I don't really think Ethereum is making a comeback, seems completely manipulated to me, I'm staying away after the DAO fiasco. After the hype wear off it will definitely be below $10. It was $7 before the DAO, then after a complete debacle it's almost $15 now? Come on...

I'm not always correct, but I'm glad you choose to at least listen to my thoughts. Who really knows where Ethereum will grow? Maybe it WILL head back down nice and low, but perhaps it won't. However, I'm more confident that something like the DAO will never take hold, at least for a while, as we continue learning and securing an ever growing network. I feel confident that the Ether I hold will still be there when I open my wallet, but since Steemit is so new, and continues to frequently give me errors (I just got Error 500 for about 2 hours when trying to log in), I'm just not as confident in the platform- yet.

Totally agree that the future of crypto-currency is on Ethereum, bitcoin as you said is quiet slow, but as any first-out technology it got it's value.
