There are several reasons why the price of ethereum soars and can even reach half of the bitcoin price. Some points can be our reference to believe that the price of ethereum can be half or a quarter of the bitcoin.
ethereum has smart contract which makes big companies interested to adopt it, and ethereum is a pioneer of smart contract.
the cost for ethereum transactions is not as big as bitcoin. You can imagine what if you just want to send money $ 10 and you must pay $ 2 by using bitcoin, this is a big disaster in the current bitcoin community.
Bitcoin will be like gold in the real world where people do not transact daily with gold but use money, then how is retail transaction? How people can handle retail transactions? Yes .. they will use ethereum.

It makes me wonder about other alt coins because I remember not very long ago that people never expected anything to come close to bitcoin and here we are looking at Ethereum and thinking it could be worth a few hundred dollars soon.
Which then makes me think, is it time to invest heavily in other alt coins? If so, which ones? I remember not long ago when Ethereum prices were pretty low, that I had a couple of thousand coins. Now I feel sick thinking about it!!

@crackdown yeah that sounds good if you do a post about that. That's the part I always struggle with, who to trust and who not to. I'm also not the most computer savvy type of guy but I'm extremely enthusiastic about the bitcoin and other coins as well so as I like to say, every day is a school day.

Alt coin...? or coin....?
Good point when you think about it. With currency like the dollar or pound we don't tend to say alt currency. We say OTHER currencies. Maybe it's time to say OTHER coins instead of alt coins.
i must say that eth is still altcoin, bitcoin still the main cryptocurrencies, because bitcoin is a pioneer in this crypto world.
