Branding and Goal Setting

Lets take a short poll:

  • How many of you want to be successful?
  • How many of believe the economy will help you in achieving your success?
  • How many of you have had your professional goals or plans for success put on hold because of the economy?

As we can see the economy is causing many people to stop pursuing their goals. And it is no wonder because when you flip on the TV at night all you hear about is doom and gloom. It is really no wonder that business are not focusing on advancement and instead focusing on survival.

Now I am going to challenge you to see our current situation not as a hindrance to your goals and success, but as the catalyst it needs to be achieved. I say that for a few reasons:

  • Many businesses are in surviving mode and not seeking clients or advertising like they used to. Making this prime time for you to get in the face of your clients.

  • Many say that people are not buying anymore. That’s wrong. People are buying but they are doing their homework first. In order to get the sale now, you have to be prepared and you goals must be in order.

In order to get the sale you must have your goals inline with the public’s new buy strategy. In order for that to happen you have to do a three things those are:

  • Decide on one or two specific goals that you will complete within a specific time frame. Write your goals and when you will complete your goals down. Place your goals somewhere where you will see them everyday. This will give you motivation in order to achieve them if you seen your goals everyday.

  • Once you have decided upon your specific goals you need to immediately create an action plan for achieving your goals. Start out with broad ideas and then narrow them down until you have a mental path to achieving your goals.

  • Finally create a group of people, or a mentor group, that will help you achieve your goals and meet with them monthly or more to check in on your progress. This will ensure you are constantly working to achieve your goals.

So now you have your goals and a path way to achieving them thanks to your mentor group and your plan. Now you may ask how you get customers in the doors to make sales which in turn will help you achieve your goals. This is done through branding

Branding to me is simple, branding is creating a specific message you want your customers to think of and relate to every time they hear your name.

A strong brand is created by attention to details and time.

In order to have an effective brand you must do the a few things:

  • Start with a product or service you are proud of and will stand behind
  • Pay attention to the details the CUSTOMER wants NOT what you THINK they want
  • Over deliver on their expectations
  • Be consistent and stick to your plan

In the beginning I challenged you to think of our current situation as the catalyst you need in order to achieve your goals and the success you have always wanted. It is my hope that through this article you have learned that you can achieve anything you want through focused efforts and a strong continues brand.
