Just this sunday Karachi hosted the closing ceremony and Final of PSL, the Pakistan Super League a cricket league consisting six teams from different cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Multan and Peshawar. The final was amongst Quetta and Peshawar and Quetta won the fourth edition for the firat time being crowned the champion of PSL 4.
What was so special about this event? Well with this tournament we the Pakistani nation are trying to bring back international sports back to Pakistan. The unfortunate incident with the Srilankan team was a setback and it deprived us fans from live matches within Pakistan. This time Karachi hosted a total of 8 matches with 39 international players travelling to Pakistan.

This sent a message of peace to the international world. That we just want to see superstars performing in Pakistan. Not just cricket but Carles Puyol literally my footballing idol visited Karachi unfortunately I didn’t went to his meet and greet but the news made me so excited. All the international players had positive feedback of the hospitality of the Pakistani people, Darren Sammy, Shane Watson and Sir Vivian Richards were all quite satisfied and ready to return next year for the tournament. The atmosphere in the stadium was also surreal with the fans buzzing like never before.
In the end Pakistan won regardless of what the outcome of the match was, and our Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that next year’s tournament will be hosted entirely in Pakistan and in multiple cities too in different regions. Let’s hope it will be bigger and better next year.
