The Sanctuary: Chapter 19
Chapter 19
That night Dylan along with Dianne went to the school's cafeteria for dinner. Though nothing really strange happened, the pair did noticed some amusing things. For example, the cafeteria's almost at full capacity that night yet for some reason the pair managed to find an empty table for two people. It's like the other students simply left the table empty just for the two of them.
Though they find it strange and funny at the same time, Dylan and Dianne were thankful for their thoughtfulness. After the dinner the two seperated quite satisfied.
Three days quickly passed, and the day that the student representatives were waiting for finally arrived.
In a certain training field, the students are seen grouped by the classes they are in. In one of the group Dylan is surrounded by his classmates curious of the outcome of the "date". Though Dylan wanted to say that it's not a date, he knew full well that his classmates will not believe his words—making him feel awkward.
Fortunately, the awkwardness stopped the moment the coach arrived.
"Seemed like everyone did their preparations properly." Said the coach after noticing the bags everyone are carrying.
"That's a given coach!"
"Yeah! No one wanted to die you know!"
"Indeed!"
Seeing that his students understands the danger of entering the sanctuary, the coach's smile widened.
"Good! Keep that mentality, and you'll complete the training with flying colors!" He said.
"Yes coach!" Dylan and the others answered.
The same scene are happening everywhere. Knowing that the result of their special training will determine their schools ranking, as well as their own, not a single student slacked off.
Not long after the principal arrived, and gave a short but encouraging speech. He then nods to the teacher signaling them to start boarding the school buses. And once all students are boarded the buses drive off to their destination.
The principal watches until he could no longer see the buses. With a sigh, the principal wishes them luck, and hoped that everyone could return in one piece.
Inside one of the buses, Dylan is being teased by their class rep, Vivian.
"Are you disappointed that you and Dianne are not on the same bus?" Vivian asked teasingly.
"Not really. Where going to the same destination anyway, and I'll be seeing her in abfew hours." Dylan answered without backing down.
Dylan's admittance surprised Vivian and the others, with the exception of a certain fatty who's busy muching snacks. They thought that he'll deny it or answer in a roundabout way.
"You're surprisingly honest this time." Vivian looked at Dylan with interest.
Dylan merely smile, and shrugged, refusing to comment.
The same scenario is also happening in the bus that Dianne's riding. Liz, Dianne's bestfriend also asked the same question, and whether due to coincidence or another reason, received the same answer from Dianne.
The journey was peaceful and uneventful. And the buses that're carrying the students arrived at the their destination— Asgard Institute without any problem.
Once the student and teachers arrived, several officials from the institute welcomed them. They are then lead to the portal that would tranport them to one of the safe zone of the Sanctuary.
Looking around the area, the students are surprised to see that there academy was not the only school that present. They are actually able to see five uniforms with different designs. Meaning there are also five other schools present at the institute.
Their arrivals also did not escape the notice of the other schools, and just like them, these schools observed them with interest. And with the excemption of the teachers, none of the students greeted them. But that's to be expected as these students are opponents that they'll need to fight in the interschool competition.
After being assigned their own place, the students quietly seats as they wait for the portal to open.
Meanwhile, something very interesting is happening on the location where Dylan and his classmates are resting. Maybe because of some coincidence, Dianne's group was also assigned the same place as that of Dylan's class!
