Jasmines

in #esteem7 years ago

#WednesdayWalk is a challenge started by @tattoodjay, The idea is to get out for a short walk, and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jasmines grow best in tropical and warm climate, and they are widely cultivated for the characteristic fragrance of their flowers. Recently, I learned there are around 200 species of Jasmines.
These first appeared on my walking route, when they developed the pebbled lane into the walking route today.
Later on, they planted these. There are beds and beds of these along the three kilometer route. In the evening, or early morning, when they are in bloom, the route smells lovely with the Jasmine scent.
Recently, these appeared on the route as well, a bed of this here, a section of this there.
It was then that I realised the similarities of these three plants. With the first two varieties, I didn't make the connection because, one is a tree and one is a shrub/bush. It didn't occur to me that they could be of the same Jasmine family. When the third variety showed up, I thought I would take a closer look. Google ID them all as Jamsines.
This was the latest to show up. Google ID them as Jasmines too. Their leaves are a paler green, but otherwise the flowers and leaves look like that of a Jasmine.
What beautiful Flowers on your walk and thanks for the info about Jasmine, I really do not know much about flowers but if I remember rightly they have quite a disctinctive aroma
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Yes, they have a very nice scent. I like it very much. It smells lovely in the evening when they are blooming.
Ok so my memory is not failing me completely lOL
Nothing wrong with you memory. 😊
Phew thats good to know LOL
How beautiful! I love jasmine, and can only imagine how wonderful that walk must smell when they are all blooming. I knew there were many different kinds, but over 200? I would never have guessed there are that many. Great Wednesday walk!
Thank you @goat-girlz. Of the four varieties in the post, the second variety has got the strongest scent. It is very nice indeed in the evening when they are blooming.
I will just have to imagine it, unless you can send the scent through the internet!
You will have to wait for someone to come up with the app for sending scent and smell through the internet. 😊
Get going, super nerds! We're waiting!
Looks like a pleasant place to go for a walk! Those are some beautiful flowers. I'm not sure if we have any around here where I live or not? Google says some grow in Phoenix which isn't too far from here... I'll try to keep a lookout in the future.
You will love them when they bloom. The atmosphere smells so nice. 😊
Howdy sir Vincent! What a great looking tree or plant or whichever that is, I didn't know they existed, maybe they don't over here.
I think they are tropical plants.
I guess they wouldn't grow in most of Texas but then but we do have some subtropical areas in the Southeast. They are unusual even for Singapore though, I think you said unless that was something else. Too many posts to keep track of. lol.
You find Jasmines all over Singapore. Not unusual at all. 😊
oh. you're the unusual one!
