An Evening Out

Yesterday, I met up with a couple of my mates for a meal, and drinks. We went downtown, and had a wander around until we found what looked like a nice spot for a drink. We sat on the sidewalk, where we can people watch while we have a chat, and a drink.

They come cheaper in buckets.

We had a bucket of Heineken, after which we wandered off in search of dinner. We settled on a Vietnamese shop nearby. We all had a bowl of beef noodles - the speciality of the house....

...and then, it was back, (it just strike me now that I do not even know the name of the place), for another bucket of beer.

The crowd was beginning to trickle in.

After we had downed the beers, we wandered off in search of other watering holes. There are many watering holes in the area. As it was a Friday evening, they were all very busy. We went to a few which we think might be interesting, but had to give them up, because they were too crowded to be comfortable.

So, off we went a wandering again. It was good to walk off the beers, and the dinner.

It took a while before we found another place we like. It was the Blu Jaz, a place where we have been once. Luckily for us, a group just vacated a table, when we arrived. So, we took over the table.

And, of course, more drinks. The bowl of glass noodles was already digested long ago. So, more food – chicken wings and fish sticks to be washed down with Tiger beer this time.

We left at about eleven. It was bedtime for the seniors. It was a pleasant evening out. Good company, good beers... What more can one ask for?
