Dreams of Flight - Poetry
Dreams of travel,
To infinity,
To the other side,
To the ends of the worlds known,
A dream always it was.
Until it was no longer.
A thing of truth,
to seek for truth,
To know it all,
Comforting yet dangerous,
But curious to tread it all.
A habit to be freed,
From tyranny,
If at all,
It was to be.
Think ideas,
Flows like flight,
A fright within.
Wrench the clutching fear,
Right from the root,
To carry it over,
Over the beyond.
Detecting a faint bit,
It was actions that finally carried it through.
We all want to be set free and fly like birds. Traveling can make you feel free, the truth can set you free (although the truth can hurt, that's why some people don't want to hear it), and creating can make you feel free.
Comfort can get in the way of being free, but you should always choose freedom over comfort.
Humans want to be free. We'll fight captivity even if it's pleasant. We might stay in captivity (both literally and metaphorically) if we are unaware that we're trapped, but if we know that we are, we'll fight.
I'm not sure what you think, but I think everyone wants to be free and fly. That's why we tried to learn to fly for so long, because flying feels free.
