A Limerick: Traffic

in #esteem7 years ago (edited)

An enthusiastic lady called Mo,
Once dreamt she was at a car show.
She was then beeped awake,
“A traffic jam - heaven’s sake!”
But she was stuck with no room to go.

So what is a LIMERICK?

According to Wikipedia:

  • A limerick is a form of verse,
  • usually humorous and frequently rude, in five-lines,
  • with a strict rhyme scheme of AABBA,
  • in which the first, second and fifth line rhymes,
  • while the third and fourth lines are shorter and share a different rhyme.

The limerick packs laughs anatomical,

Into space that is quite economical.
But the good ones I've seen
So seldom are clean
And the clean ones so seldom are comical.

Another example:

A painter, who lived in Great Britain,
Interrupted two girls with their knitting,
He said, with a sigh,
That park bench -- well I,
Just painted it, right where you're sitting. Unknown

Limericks can be fun and easy to write - hope you enjoyed these.
