Tree Tuesday: the trees in my neighbours’ garden, เพื่อนบ้านใหม่กับต้นไม้ในสวนของบ้านหลังใหม่

This is my entry for #treetuesday created by @old-guy-photos. This pรost will introduce you to my new neighbour’s effort to create her dream house with a nicely designed garden. This house could be seen standing out nicely from the river bank.

The view from the upper floor of the house was quite impressive; my neighbour did invite me to tour her new house two months ago. She was a local school teacher and fell in love with an American working in Thailand some forty years ago. They went to the US to settle down and had very successful career. Their only son got married with an American and had a beautiful young daughter.

This year my neighbour came back to Nongkhai to build a retirement home for herself and her husband. Being very rich and used to living in luxurious house with a big garden in the US, my neighbour had big plans for the new house and did spend an amazingly amount of money on building the house. Further, she had contracted a gardening firm to create her ideal garden in one month.

Several trucks arrived with tall palm trees, lots of small decorative plants, bags of soil and square grasses for new lawn. It was quite amazing to see how rich people could conjure up beautiful house and green garden in a short time. I walked past her house when those trees were delivered, so I would have to wait two more weeks to see the ready made new garden. I would love to take photos of her garden when it’s completely perfect according to my neighbour’s plan.

เพื่อนบ้านที่กลับมาบ้านเกิดในปีนี้ เป็นคนหนองคายที่แต่งงานกับชาวอเมริกันตอนสมัยเป็นครูสาว แล้วย้ายตามสามีไปอยู่ที่อเมริกาเพื่อทำงาน และมีครอบครัวที่นั่น เขามีลูกชายกันหนึ่งคน และลูกชายก็แต่งงานกับสาวอเมริกัน ครอบครัวมีลูกสาวอายุสิบขวบหนึ่งคน ตอนนี้เพื่อนบ้านสร้างบ้านใหม่เสร็จแล้ว เหลือแต่การตกแต่งบ้าน และหาเฟอร์นิเจอร์มาใส่ให้เต็มบ้าน บ้านนี้สร้างด้วยวัสดุอย่างดีเยี่ยม เพราะเจ้าของบ้านมีฐานะดีมาก มีบ้านหลังใหญ่ที่อเมริกาและอยู่ในย่านคนรวยที่นั่น เขาจึงเคยชินกับของที่มีคุณภาพสูง และมีราคาสูงไปด้วย เขามีความฝันที่จะมาสร้างบ้านสำหรับครอบครัวมาใช้ชีวิตในวัยเกษียรที่เมืองไทย เขาจึงทุ่มแรงเงินแรงใจเต็มที่กับบ้านหลังนี้

วันนั้นเราเดินผ่านบ้านใหม่ตอนที่ บริษัทรับจัดสวนกำลังขนต้นไม้ ดิน และแผ่นหญ้ามาจัดสวนพอดี เราก็เลยได้เห็นเขากำลังขนต้นปาล์มหางกระรอกต้นใหญ่หลายต้นเข้าบ้าน คนสวนส่วนหนึ่งกำลังปูหญ้าที่สนาม เราเห็นจำนวนต้นไม้ที่ขนมาปลูกในสวนแล้ว ก็น่าตกใจมาก เพราะมีจำนวนมากเกินไปสำหรับขนาดของสนาม เราคิดว่าค่านํ้าประปาที่ต้องใช้รดต้นไม้ในแต่ละเดือนคงต้องมากทีเดียว แต่เราสงสารต้นไม้ใหญ่ที่ถูกล้อม แล้วเอามาปลูกหลายสิบต้น ถ้ารากมันไม่แข็งแรง เวลามีลมพัดมาแรงๆ ต้นไม้พวกนี่อาจโค่นลงมาได้ เราคงต้องรออีกสองสัปดาห์ให้เขาจัดสวนให้เสร็จก่อน แล้วเราจึงไปถ่ายรูปสวนที่จัดเรียบร้อยแล้ว
