Friendly temple cats, แมววัดที่เป็นมิตรและมีความสุข

Last weekend I had to travel to a temple situating quite far away from my favourite areas. I had to go to a funeral of a long lost relative so I was very eager to get there. It took me almost three hours to reach the temple as I got lost and had to ask for directions. Luckily, I gave myself three hours extra time for my trip so I had free time to walk around the temple quietly.

There were people praying and doing meditation in the corners of this hall underneath the white pagoda. It seemed these temple cats had their fan club as some people just walked straight to stroke the sleeping cat. The cat just went on sleeping!

สุดสัปดาหที่ผ่านมา เราต้องเดินทางไปงานศพญาติผู้ใหญ่ที่ห่างหายจากชีวิตเราไปนานกว่าสิบปี เราเองก็ได้ขอให้คนช่วยสืบหาว่าครอบครัวเขาย้ายบ้านไปที่ไหน แต่ยังไม่ได้คำตอบ ดูเหมือนว่าเราจะมีลางสังหรณ์ล่วงหน้าอีกแล้ว เราก็เสียดายโอกาสที่ไม่ได้ไปกราบและเยี่ยมเยียนก่อนเขาเข้าโรงพยาบาล เราใช้เวบาเดินทางเกือบสามชั่วโมงกว่าจะไปถึงวัดนี้ เราหลงทางและต้องถามทางคนหลายครั้ง ดีใจที่ทุกคนบอกทางอย่างดี และยังพาเดินไปให้ถูกทางด้วย ประทับใจมากที่เจอคนใจกว้างแบะมีเมตตาสามสี่คนในวันเดียว พอไปถึงวัดก็ต้องเดินหาศาลาอีก แต่เราเผื่อเวลาไว้มาก จึงมีเวลาเดินสำรวจวัดและถ่ายรูปเล่นด้วย เราเดินไปหาเจดีย์สีขาวท่ามกลางแสงแดดที่แผดเผา คราวนี้ไวรัสในอากาศคงแห้งตาย และส่วนที่ติดอยู่ตามราวโลหะและเสื้อผ้าก็คงตายเรียบร้อยเช่นกัน

ข้างในใต้เจดีย์นั้นเย็นสบายและ มีลมไหฃเวียนดีมาก บรรดาแมววัดจึงพากันมาหาที่นอนบนพื้นที่ปูหินอ่อน เราเจอแมวสองตัว ทำท่าเหมือนเป็นเจ้าบ้าน นอนบนพื้นใกล้โต๊ะหมู่บูชาอย่างมีความสุข มีคนสองสามคนนั่งสมาธิและสวดมนต์เงียบๆที่ตามมุมห้อง แต่แมวที่นี่มีแฟนคลับ มีคนเดินเข้ามาลูบตัวมันและเล่นด้วย แต่แมวก็นอนหลับไปโดยไม่สนใจ ส่วนแมวสามสีอีกตัวหนึ่งเดินเข้ามาถึง ก็ฝนเล็บบนพรมอย่างสนุกสนาน แมวพวกนี้เป็นเจ้าของที่ทางจริงๆด้วย ทุกคนต้องทำตัวเรียบร้อยและเกรงใจแมวด้วย

This cat found the carpet very nice for her claws! These cats acted as if they owned the whole place. People had to behave towards these special cats and be quiet while they were sleeping. All the people inside this hall seemed to respect these temple cats a lot! I think they might have some magical power given to them by the white pagoda!
