A trust in God that deserves respect

in #esteem6 years ago

That such friends who make life in this wonderful community, it is a pleasure to be able to greet them again with the intention of writing an emotional message to all those who say they trust in God and is that this article seeks to challenge them to know to what extent they do it because words are only words until they are backed up with deeds. For the entire Venezuelan community today more than ever it is necessary to turn our gaze to Christ because He is our only hope. Some faint and faint because they only visualize a future with worse conditions than the present, but if we learn to depend on God we will never lack any good because those who trust in God are not ashamed, but trusting in God is not just saying "I trust in God" and hoping that He will solve all your problems and give you full happiness because although God's plans are good, So trusting in God is not only waiting for everything to work out in our favor, it implies that things may not work out the way we want them to, but we still accept His decisions for our lives. To illustrate what I'm talking about I want to cite an example in the Bible of a scene that I read with respect as the protagonists express themselves about God's will, I invite you to analyze it with me and then to analyze if you trust God the way they did.

This paragraph is a fragment of the history that can be found in the Bible in chapter 3 of the book of Daniel:

Shortly after King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of the statue, he had a huge image made of gold. He placed it on the plain of Dura and gathered before it all the important people of the country, including Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The king commanded, "When you hear the sound of trumpets, harps, and bagpipes, you must bow before the image. Anyone who does not do so will be punished in the furnace of fire.

  1. Then the king commanded that they should play music. They all bowed and worshipped the image. But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not worship it. Some men noticed and said to the king, "Those three Hebrews are not worshipping your statue. Nebuchadnezzar sent for the three young men and said, "I am going to give you another opportunity to worship the image. If you do not, I will cast you into the furnace of fire. No god will be able to save them from me. They replied, "We don't need another chance. Our God can save us. And though He does not save us, O king, we are not going to worship the statue.

The first thing we can notice is that these men had deposited their loyalty in God to the point that they were not going to dishonor Him even if it cost them their lives, but in their mind they knew that not worshipping the statue did not mean a certain death but that the decision was God's and they were clear that this decision could not be in their favor and nevertheless they were willing to accept it, that is the true confidence in God because they clarify that "God has the power to deliver us", what was in question was not if God could liberate them or not, what was in question was not if God could liberate them or not. They assert that even if God's decision was not to deliver them they trusted that that decision was best for them because it came from God who loves us and will always seek the best for us.

Now, will you ask me how death can be good for anyone? (in case God had decided that they would die in the furnace)

It was not the case, but there is a case where someone's death was convenient for everyone, I mean Christ's death, it was convenient for us because it brings us closer to God, was convenient for Christ because thanks to what suffering learned obedience and was perfected by the afflictions and also after resurrection (which would not have been possible if He had not died) received a name that is above every name and before Him every knee will bend (not because it claims to be God, but because it proved to be and also proved to be better human being than all of us so before Him no one is inexcusable).

In the case that concerns us, of course, God prevented those men from dying in the furnace, for He will not shame those who trust in Him.

But the point is not whether everything went right or wrong but the level of trust of these three men. Is it our trust in God or do we just trust in God hoping that everything will go as we want? and if it doesn't go as we want, do we doubt God?

Trusting in God is willingly accepting His will for our lives, whether we like it or not. However, I can say that for the love he has for us (demonstrated by sending his Son to die for us), the will of God will always work in our favor, the only thing that can vary is that his methods will not always be as we expect because He is our King and not we kings of Him, in that sense do not try to govern God and tell him how to do things, just put yourself in his hands and let him guide your life.
