RE: Souls Leaving Coronado Bridge My California Landmark

in #esteem5 years ago

Hey, @fitinfun.

I've been to San Diego a couple of times. Very lovely place, but as a tourist, I can't say I was privy to what was happening with the bridge. I'm sorry to here that suicides take place there at all, and that it's touched you personally in a couple of ways. It's always surprising when it's the people who seem to have it together, but they still need as much love and support as anyone, and someone to talk about their troubles and fears. If they'll do it. Too much can get bottled up inside, and too much can be ignored by others.

Very sad, but a very enlightening post.

Thank you, @glenalbrethsen. Most local people do not know this either. It is not good for the tourist image. Now that I have been working with this for the last years, I hear of so many sad stories. This bridge is so accessible and easy to get over that it is a crime, really. But will cost many billions to fix. I used to hope for 2025, but I don't think it will be protected by then. They are many issues aside from financial, and lots of hoops to get through. But we keep trying.
