Grasshoppers are no stranger to human life because he lives side by side with humans, sometimes he is in our house even though in general this grasshopper is mostly found in green plants. Grasshopper is an herbivorous insect of the Caelifera sub-order in the order of Orthoptera. To distinguish them from cricket shrubs or katydids, they are sometimes called short horned grasshoppers, but it is very clear the difference between grasshoppers and crickets.
This type of insect has its own uniqueness in its characteristics, sometimes it can change color and behavior at high population density called grasshoppers. A grasshopper is a stunning insect that can jump 20 times its own body length, its long legs can push where it stands to pass a very high jump.
Seeing a grasshopper so unique in its leap makes Kuta wonder, If you or I can do like that, we will be able to jump nearly 40 meters !. A locust does not really 'jump'. What they do is use their feet as a catapult. Grasshoppers can jump and fly well and they can reach speeds of 8 miles per hour when flying. There are about 18,000 different species of locusts, both green grasshoppers and black grasshoppers.
According to the results of research that the grasshopper can be made as a medium for large insects. The size of the adult length is 1 to 7 cm, depending on the species. Like their 'katydids' and 'cricket' brothers, they have chewed their mouths, two pairs of wings, one narrow and difficult, broad and flexible back legs, and other lengths to jump. They differ from these groups in having a short antenna that does not reach very far back on their own body, its strong hind legs can push and jump away while other types of insects are not like that.
