Remember, Christian soul, that thou has this day a duty:
God to Glorify,
Eternity to Prepare for,
Jesus to Imitate,
The Angels and Saints to invoke;
Your Soul to Save,
Your Body to Mortify,
Sins to Expiate,
Virtues to Acquire,
Hell to avoid,
Heaven to Gain,
Time to Profit by,
Your neighbors to Edify,
The World to Despise,
Devils to Combat,
Passions to Subdue,
Death Perhaps to Encounter, and
Judgment to Undergo.

I think this could not be anymore clearer than daylight to me. I just love this picture of the nuns who seem to be hurrying to get inside from the cold to perform their duty. It is a reminder to us that we are here on earth fleetingly. We have a lot to do and need to start our day in earnest prayer to ask for strength to do His will and perseverance to accomplish everything required of us. Time can be our worst enemy because we can't stop it nor turn it back to begin again or make up for past mistakes. Perhaps if we live the life of a dutiful Christian as stated above we shall not lament time ill spent or fear death and judgement.

How wonderful to realize the beauty of the saints in welcoming death, to be united with the Lord they have served all their lives. They used their time so wisely and profitably in service to the Lord, their fellowmen and themselves. They most assuredly look forward with joy and hope to meet their creator. Surely to follow their exemplary attitude can only benefit us greatly.

I know for certain that all this will sometimes take a lifetime to accomplish because everyday is a continous battle with the world, the fallen angels and ourselves. But I am not discouraged for with God nothing is impossible and He has given us the saints, the angels and the Blessed Virgin Mary whom we invoke for help, guidance and consolation.

This doesn't belong in Christianity. Mary doesn't have a crown. She's not our mother. She can't hear people when they pray to her. Catholicism is a monstrous perversion of true Christianity.

We saved by faith alone in Christ alone guided by the Bible alone. We need to repent of our sins, accept what Jesus did on the cross to pay for those sins, and accept Jesus as our Lord.

We're not saved by infant baptism, good works, and obedience to the man made rules of the Roman Catholic Church. Mary has no role in our salvation. Mary isn't the only way to Jesus. Mary isn't co-redeemer. If you read the New Testament you'll find that her role is very minor. She only has 4 words preserved in scripture after Jesus was 12 years old.

The Catholic Church perverts scripture to support their blasphemous view of Mary. Here they are:

(John 2:1-5 NIV) On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, {2} and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. {3} When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine." {4} "Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come." {5} His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."

They use this to say that Mary, in effect, is the master of Jesus and has to do whatever she says. Nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus is God incarnate. Jesus said repeatedly that he was on earth to do the will of the Father. He never once talked about doing the will of his mother.

(John 19:25-27 NIV) Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. {26} When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," {27} and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

They use these verses to say Mary is our mother but that's not true. Jesus was entrusting the care of his mother to John. Mary went to live with John after Jesus died on the cross and before his resurrection.

Hi there. I really don't know where you get your interpretations for these verses but you are welcome to believe them if you must. As a catholic christian we are taught not to criticize other people's beliefs, not to say derogatory things about them and most specially not to look down on them in their beliefs. We are always admonished to keep silent and keep our peace. So I would like you to know that I am Catholic and will keep believing what my church teaches just as you will keep believing what your pastors tell you to believe. Mary is my mother but certainly not yours if you don't believe in her. She doesn't mind because she doesn't want to force you to do something against your will. Just like redemptive suffering, if one doesn't offer it sincerely willingly and with one's full understanding it has no value or merit whatsoever. I love being catholic because no one can make you believe in anything unless you've read and understood and accepted it. Anyway thanks for your comment and I really am sorry but I love Mother Mary because I know she listens to me when I pray to her for help. Have a great day!
