The World's Highest Village - Koumik !!!
I hope you guys are having a great time while steeming.
Koumik is world's highest village, situated at an altitude of around 15,500 feet above sea level.
It is famous for Lundup Tsemo Gompa Buddhist Monastery.
According to the natives, this monastery is residance to "The Future Buddha", who protects the village.
This monastery is also the highest motorable buddhist monastery in the world.
We went to the only food point in the village, "The Eco Kitchen" where we had coffee.
At this height there's lack of oxygen, so we avoided running or playing.
Volleyball is the game of Koumik.
It was fun to see the locals playing the game.
Yak was the only animal we came across at Koumik.
We didn't stay at Koumik, but it would be a good choice to spend a night there because you could witness thousands of star at night or ever many shooting stars.
Camping at Koumik would be the best option.
People of Koumik are lovely, a bit of chit chat with them and you will be invited at their home for tea and snacks.
This place seems like some other world, the place blessed by god with astounishing nature beauty that could make anyone awe-struck.
