Clicked #67: A bow to BRO !!!
I hope you are having a wonderful Friday
Lahaul Spiti is the most forsaken area of Himachal Pradesh.
Poor climate and unpredictable weather with high mountains made of loose soil and rocks makes this area highly prone to landslide and other natural hazards. Becuase of this roads are reconstructed every year after monsoon and snowfall.
And this responsibility is given to "Border Road Organization", popularly known as BRO.
These people are responsible for maintaining and re-constructing the roads damaged after every season.
The work done by BRO is highly commendable, maintaining roads at such vulnurable area is a huge task to deal with.
The raw material and resources used for maintaining these roads are brought here from Reckong Peo (Kinnaur) which is miles away from Spiti.
It involves a great risk to construct roads at such land slide prone area. For working so effortlessly, I really want to take a bow for BRO.
They are doing a great work providing the natives roads so smooth making their transportation easy.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has constructed the world's highest motorable road in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, passing through Umlingla Top at a height of over 19,300 feet.
I am not only impressed with their work but also with their sense of humour safety quotes.
Some of them goes like...
Don’t gossip, let him drive
Don’t be a gama
in the land of lama
Drive, don’t fly
Be gentle on my curves
Fast won’t last
If you sleep
your family will weep
Life is short
don’t make it shorter
Enemies of the road
liquor, speed and load
Though, I was not able to capture them because of narrow roads or sometimes other vehicle have to passby.
I even thanked the soliders working there for adding up so much happiness to our trip.
Stay Tuned...
Thank you
@Clicked

Those roads are incredible! The work that it must take to keep them drivable must be daunting. The signs and the sayings are very clever. They are ones you will remember! I'll be back again tomorrow!

howdy back sir clicked! oh man those guys, those BRO'S guys do an amazing job then because it would also be dangerous for them too right?
And they have to have big equipment in order to remove boulders and rocks that come down on the road and they then have to haul them off, that's work!
Yea thats why they are BRO's :p
