Clicked #60: World's Highest Post Office !!!

I have never sent postcards to anyone as it is the least used means of communication in Today's world.
Nobody wants to waste their time in writing a postcard and then posting it to someone. We love everything at a fast pace.
But there exists a place on this earth where people still communicate through postcards and letters.
Yes, the name of the place is Hikkim (Spiti, HP), the Highest Post Office of the World located at the height of 4440 meters above the sea level.
This post office was opened on November 5, 1983.
This place is without internet.
People of Hikkim does not even use cell phones.
Post Office is the only place for the natives to maintain their savings.
This is a peaceful place for monks who are far away from all the Worldly Affairs.
Hikkim is the next village from the World's Highest Village i.e. Komik.
We all went crazy when we reached at the post office and we bought over 25 Post Cards to send them to our loved ones.
Two runners take turns in delivering mail on foot from Hikkim to Kaza (15 Kilometers) every morning.
Kids of Hikkim were quite shy and were running far from us. After quite a while they got mixed up with us and played with us.
Few days back we received our post cards that we wrote to ourselves and felt nostalgic. I want to go back there desperatly.
I guess I am addicted to the mountains.
I will be exploring new places soon.
