Timphan is one of the famous Acehnese foods from the past. This sweet-tasting cake is very suitable to be a souvenir for you to take the island to the place of origin. Yes, it is incomplete if you visit Aceh without tasting and bring the timphan cake home.

Timphan has a legit taste and is made from processed glutinous rice flour containing jackfruit, jam, plantain, sweet potatoes to pumpkin. The contents will be wrapped together with flour and then wrapped using banana leaf skin. Interestingly, it can last up to 3 days with a fragrant aroma.
For Acehnese, both in Aceh and outside Aceh, no one does not know this one cake / dough. Timphan which is a soft food wrapped in young banana leaves is the most famous is the srikaya flavor. Before the Eid, mothers usually prepare young banana leaves either picking in the garden or buying on the market.

Because of the popularity of this Chant in Aceh, so many expressions with the words Timphan include, "Uroe goet buluen goet Timphan ma peugoet beumeuteme rasa" (Good day of the month, Mother's blessings must be felt).
