I haven't been in the mind of Deanna for a while but I can tell you from personal experience that sometimes there is an awakening when you look at your partner and intrinsically know they're not your life partner. Then the choice is: do I stick it out with a semi-miserable existence or do I make a clean break and find true joy? Deanna is finally beginning to see the writing on the wall and breaking the binds that hold her back. :)
