I think EOS has a good chance of another impulse wave up..although I slightly differ from your analysis. I outlined that possibility here a few hours ago:

Based on what EOS is trying to achieve, by making Blockchain un-complicated, yet highly secure, its a win win when it launches. Can't wait for June 2018.
