Techcrunch starts to get it, Google still cashing in.

Desperate to jump onboard the next big story in the cryptocurrency, blockchain space Techcrunch and other media sites blindly publish rumors creating fake ICO hype that gives credibility to scammy websites duping unsuspecting individuals and causing untold damage that fuels fud and regulator concerns in the space.

Do you see what i did there?

Words of condemnation can not be too strong, irresposible reporting by supposedly professional media sources proliferates on a scale of absurdity comparable to youtuber Bitconnect promo videos.

A few basic searches on the worlds most popular search engine reveals some suprising results.

When first hearing the rumors of Telegram Open Network TON on a post by Dan Larimer in EOS Telegram Chat, I decided to take a look and try find out was going on.

In the absence of an official announcement, I found myself wondering if the rumors circulating of an ICO for a cryptocurrency and dapp platform being developed for the messaging app heavy weight was a carefully crafted elaborate hoax or something more sinister. see https://steemit.com/eos/@johnchamberlain/telegram-open-netork-ton-an-elaborate-hoax

Then shortly after posting my thoughts on it all being an elaborate hoax reports started to surface of an apparent "GRAM" scam. I asked the question has the media been played? https://steemit.com/cryptocurrencies/@johnchamberlain/has-the-media-been-played

The post received a very good comment from @jga who made a great observation from dissecting code from one of the Telegram ICO websites.
