Trading Trybe and other EOS tokens on DEXEOS - Exchange discussion

in #eos6 years ago

There are now a lot of DEXes availble on eos, but it seems, the DexEOS is the most established one, so finally i decided to give it a try.

Access is really simple, and that's maybe the main reason why to prefer a DEX over a traditional exchange, like Chaince or Big.One (Read my latest review about EOS features), because you first you need to transfer your tokens over to them, whereas all the DEXes available on EOS can be accessed via scatter and my proper account, so no shifting back and forth my funds and on top paying fees for the inconvenience.

Trybe token overvalued?

So my goal was to sell off the crap-drops and invest the returns in more promising tokens. When looking at the different tokens, what caught my eyes was the evaluation of TRYBE, which is currently at 0,01 Eos or some 0.06$ at current rates.
First of all don't get me wrong, i really like TRYBE as a platform, i like to use it and the community is great, i might sooner or later prefer it over Steem. But still, the valuation is well above like other already operating dapps like Everipedia, eosdac or Horus, which are traded at much much lower rates.

Trading experience

So idecided to throw a few TRYBE into the market to see, how it would and actually they were sold at the indicated price, so the quote given, is not of thin air, but you can trade at it. Reason enough to follow up with a few shit-tokens, which are only clogging my explorer view, like ATD, ADD, CHL which are neither innovative, nor seems there be much going on the development part. And with these its really difficult to trade, because the evaluation is really approaching the lowest you can go given the digits.
The returns i shifted to the more promising tokens, and here the spread is ok, given the tiny market, and as long you as you don't place your orders at the outer ends of the order book, you can make trades smoothly. Of course the sums i traded, where only on airdrop scale, so really tiny orders.

Other Exchanges.

Aside Dexeos, there are a few other dexes for EOS around, e.g. Newdex and just recently released DeltaDex, which promises to be the first fully decentralised DEX, where even the order book is onchain, and you don't need to transfer funds to the dapp. But currently, they only seem to offer the IQ token (or i am just too dump to switch the coin).

Then there is Big.One, which is a traditional Exchange, with a honest focus on EOS. My only issue with them is that they heavily support EOSFlyToMars, and i feel exchanges shouldn't meddle with BP.

The there is chaince, which do have their own tokens, and let you trade EOS against ETH and BTC as well as few airdrops, but unfortunately not all. The good thing, by staking their token, they will give you trading rewards. I have had their issues with them, but those have been solved and they seem to operate much smoother, if i assess the overall sentiment on their Telgram right now.

What's your experience with DEXes and other Eos Based exchanges?

Nice post. I need to test DEXEOS...it's on my to do list.
BTW...Have you received any TRYBE via airdrops? I ask because haven't received anything yet...other than what's locked up on the TRYBE site.

I didn't know Trybe tokens could already be traded, I need to check it out too then!

So at the current price, you actually receive 60 cents per day for logging in... Not bad!

I guess they have several airgrabs, i believe the first was 50-100 for claiming + signing up. Your math would be right, and it made this coin really powerful, although i guess, the 50 you get only inside Trybe, and there they will remain locked until the end of the year. So maybe it's the current scarcity, that makes the current value of the token.

Indeed, I don't think you can already send the tokens you get by signing up and signing in at trybe.one.

I'm certainly keeping an eye on the project!

Trybe is really cool, i like their focus on quality content, and the community is just great!

I was under the impression that trybe tokens wouldn't end up on the exchanges till December.

BTW - don't sell yet, they are doing an airdrop of EOS based on your trybe banance as at 11 Sept 2018:

https://trybe.one/how-to-receive-your-trybe-airdrop-tokens-in-your-eos-account/

I think its diferent airdrops, the first airgrab went to token holders (to their wallets), the drop on September 11 (why on earth did they choose this date???) will be based on the TRYBE held inside the platform, and i assume they go wil lbe dropped inside the platform as well. But i might be wrong...

The 11th September airdrop goes to your EOS wallet. You have to go to your settings and add the name of your EOS wallet. So you should end up with two sets of tokens, one set on the Trybe platform, and one set in your EOS account.

Hmm.... really? What sense would that make, when you can use your tokens on the platform at the end of the year? All you could do with it would be sell (or hodl at best)....

I think their logic is simply that people like free things and will be incentivised to use their platform more to get the free tokens. Here is more about the airdrop:

Oh, I had the funny feeling that ATD might be the most successful of the tokens recently put on the EOS chain. Not because I agreed with the idea but because it was the most open to abuse :P

What makes it open to abuse in your view? I just don't see why any business should choose some 3rd grade dapp for payments, especially when there are so many alternatives around.

When given the coin can be restricted in its use. This means that if you give your kids an allowance in ATD you can dictate what goods this can be spent on. You can prevent them spending this money on things you don't want them to spend it on. Something similar can be done by governments with benefits to the unemployed. For example recipients could only buy food with the tokens. Depending on your politics this becomes "what a great idea" or "OMG this is horrendous". Regardless of whether you think this is good or bad some governments will love the idea and use it.

I was going to write a poat just like this today haha oh well ill do it anyway. As for trybe i 100 percent agree i love trybe but when i had the chance to sell 1000 trybe for 15 eos i took it. I think a fair value for trybe is 1c thats cos ive priced in future growth

Yeah sure do it, you certainly might provide a different angle! I absolutely agree with the potential of TRYBE (and why should it stop at 1c?), but currently its evaluated much much higher than similar promising dapps, for which you could argue the same.

Definantly not stop at 1c the user base is growing fast 1c per 20k users is probably still over priced but if it can consistanly grow then it will always trade at a premium
