RE: The Power of Outsourcing: Why It Matters and Where to Start

in #entrepreneurship8 years ago (edited)

Flagging this was the only right thing to do as I see it.

If the author can come forward and reveal themselves then I will remove it. But otherwise I see this as nothing but an account used to funnel money into which will take away from deserving authors since there is only so many steem dollars to be allocated each day.

This shouldn't be a trend or else steemit is ruined in the eyes of many.

In my research to see what is going on I checked this:

https://steemd.com/@joblessnomore?page=2

I notice a lot of bots. In looking at other posts they seem to come in after @steemed upvotes.

So who is this @steemed ?

I found that @steemed is mainly a bot with many bot followers and that is the reason for all the votes here. Ironically enough I commented on a wordpress question on this post because I had the answer and then I upvoted this post and right after @steemed upvotes many bots followed.

So I was going through other trending posts like @msgivings and notice the same thing starting with @steemed

https://steemd.com/@msgivings?page=2

I'm only a couple weeks in here on steemit and so who is this @steemed ?

I then saw this post by him: https://steemit.com/curation/@steemed/im-a-steem-whale-looking-for-writers

Ok, that is cool he got in early and started mining and now has over a million in steem power and so he has a bot that upvotes people and then other people created bots to upvote right after him.

Then I see he recently made a couple changes to his bot logic and removed some topics: https://steemit.com/steem/@steemed/removing-authors-of-steem-posts

When I saw the 2 stories here from @joblessnomore and what could be going on I didn't want anything to do with it especially if it is just an account certain people created so they can funnel money to it, so I took away my upvote and removed my comment. I was going to just keep my mouth shut but I see that others are wondering what is going on so I flagged it and posted this comment.

So if you're a whale I hope you don't take offense and if @joblessnomore is more than a funneling account please introduce yourself. I see steemit as a game changer in helping people around the world. It would be a shame to ruin such a great opportunity.

One thing I did get out of this though is a better understanding of why certain articles are getting so many upvotes which can lead to a pile on effect. Also I like that unsplash.com website for free images. Nice resource.

Sort:

What do you mean by come forward and reveal themselves? I was told that this blogging platform is different from Facebook, where you have to give your identity and personal info to sign up.

I didn't mean that you needed to give up your identify. That is only if you are claiming to be someone which you are not claiming to be anyone. Your 2 posts just looked very suspicious.

See: https://steemd.com/@joblessnomore?page=2

So maybe you are that guy that just created an account decided to post 2 articles went to bed and as he slept got upvoted quickly and got noticed by a few whales that also voted that lead to a bot frenzy.

Congratulations. :) I do like the unsplash.com resource though. That was a nice discovery.
