First, I recommend using a lip exfoliator to get rid of flakes and prepare your lips for the color you’re going to apply. Once you’ve applied the exfoliator, add a lip balm to make your lips soft and ensure that the lipstick is easy to apply. This simple preparation prevents dry skin pieces from interfering with your lipstick color or leading to uneven application.
Step 2: Apply the Lipstick
Next, apply your lipstick as you would normally. If you want a sharp look, then use a lip brush and a liner to define the lips and give them shape. Keep in mind that, if you apply the color too far outside your lip line, you can always correct it with a thin/flat brush and concealer. Once you’ve applied the liner, fill it in with lipstick. Add a few coats for a darker or more dramatic look.
