The fear to the freedom

Erich Fromm in 1941, I give to the world, specifically to the area of psychology a book where he exposed in a very particular way the concept that society has for freedom and how it determines the behavior of the masses, I hope that after giving you my humble interpretation , have enough material to answer the following question: Are we really free?

Currently, we are subject to events that generate an escalation of anguish, anxiety, modern society was born with a series of conflicts such as terrorism and global warming, this in turn (emphasizing the first), is generated by political indoctrination , indistinctly to find us in Latin America, Europe or Asia our lands have been submitted to different types of government, among them fascism, Nazism and even a so-called socialism. Regardless of who is chosen by your nation, they all share the devotion for a unique leader, although this is not exclusive to a regime, we can also see it in democracies, with a false free market law.

Let us explain this in another way, clearly considering the contributions of Fromm, society moves by two factors, the desire for submission and the appetite for power, describing each of them the conformity arises when those citizens unconsciously incorporate beliefs, normative and even a reasoning process exposed by the regime and experience it as their own. Whereas an authoritarian personality converges with sadistic and masochistic elements simultaneously, that is to say, it desires a control over others and submits to a superior force (this being an idea, as is normally the case with socialist regimes).

To quote a well-known example, the Nazi ideology, considering the aforementioned mentioned Hitler had authoritarian personality traits but was subject to a considerably superior idea as was an exemplary race. This idea that determined the objectives of Hitler gave society pride and certainty regarding their beliefs, their essence and / or idiosyncrasies, the aforementioned author explained it in the following way: "We had to recognize that millions of people in Germany were as eager to give her freedom as her parents were to fight for her "(Fromm, 2007: pg 27).

If we consider the mentioned thing, and we go to the evolutionary development, while the infant is increasing his desires of industriosidad, the primary bonds are being cut, therefore the autonomy and the independence grow, this generates by consequence the individuation, when increasing the separativity with the mother, becomes a part of a society so that the abandonment of the maternal bond takes place, bringing with it the need to channel this in an appropriate way. This is where we need to be part of a group but, that provides us with status, recognition, reinforcements and, in exchange for security, we submit to the parameters that they demand.
