[Cervantes Magazine - Vol. 13]

Cinema and television are reflections of human feelings, their realities, their desires, their imagination, in short, the audiovisual world takes from everything human, and of course, depending on the purpose of the project, it also focuses on the bad side of humanity. There’s no doubt that anger, fury, or whatever we want to call it, is a fundamental ingredient in many audiovisual productions.

Anger is a very big and violent feeling, it is clear that none of us want to experience it firsthand or getting it from someone close to us. Anger always leads to something bad so the further away from us, the more confident we will feel. However, anger is a recurring element in tv series and cinema because it allows to build great stories around it. From mythological stories that use the wrath of the gods to justify all kinds of disasters, going through all those stories where anger is the most understandable feeling since something or someone is attacking a loved one and revenge is fueled by fury, to stories where anger is the plot twist that breaks a pleasant and monotonous situation to transform the product into an explosion of action and violence hardly justifiable in the absence of this feeling.

After this introduction, many of you will begin to notice the feeling of anger that we’re referring to in this issue of the magazine and you’ll be fervently wishing that I would stop talking and give you some examples of audiovisual products where our main subject can be recognized.

Do you feel the fury inside you already? Well, we’ll go to it without further delay, the Bitcoin collapses, the Tether is a ponzi scheme and you don’t realize it and have lost your digital wealth ... (that would definitely unleash anger in the Blockchain world! XD)

Well, i guess you have already checked your Bitcoin chart for reference and you’ve seen that I was messing with you a bit. Don’t be so angry, i mean, Mr. Robot tricks you constantly and you always put up with it!!

As the maximum exponent of film that uses anger as the main argument we have

"A day of fury"

In this film, Michael Douglas is on fire, you can see he’s fury is very good, I don’t know why but it comes natural to him ...

Another great exponent of uncontrolled anger combined with elements of science fiction and some terror is "Carrie" where a girl is brutally harassed by some imbeciles until they get to unleash the beast inside her ... This movie is perfect for a Sunday afternoon, better with popcorn and a blanket huddled together with your respective love, because if you watch it alone ... you are going to cry of fear!

Kill Bill is another example of a film that is based on anger to bring us gratuitous violence that’s hardly rationally justifiable ... what a butchering, friends! But of course, it’s because anger manages that small and thin body (Uma Thurman’s) in such a masterful way that makes it possible to reduce to amass of flesh anyone who stands in her way of death and destruction ... it’s totally incredible, but it’s cool xD

Anger is one of the seven deadly sins, and when we talk about deadly sins we all cinephiles come to mind to one of the best movies of all times, if I'm talking about "Seven" the queen, in my opinion, of thrillers.

To move along with the cinematic examples, because there are hundreds of thousands of millions, and I don’t know them all, a scene that has marked a whole generation and has served to make countless humorous videos although it is based on a very hard historical moment of humanity, where out of a bunker hundreds of thousands of people died because of the unreason of war, i’m talking about “Der Untergang” ... what you, don’t know what it is? Sure, yes, here I leave the original scene, but look for the modified version with any subject, sure it exists;)

That dwarf mustache bastard had a reputation for being angry and hostile, I still don’t understand how millions of Germans were able to follow the indications of a subnormal, just thinking about it ... ugh, without realizing it, anger begins to seize me, I better calm down ... but anyone who thinks he was a great guy is an integral asshole who deserves ... well it's not worth to say ... noooo wait I can’t !! All fascists are sons of bit ... ok now it was worth it xD

To distend the atmosphere full of anger that this post is breathing, I will share a version of this scene made by a steemian who used to hang in the Hispanic community seven months ago and worked on this Steemit themed version which made us laugh to the 100 or 200 Spanish speakers that we were around here back then …

Hitler en #hispanohablantes - Una parodia que debo.

Greetings @renzoarg, I don’t know if you follow me on Steemit or not ;)

As for tv series, they are like movies, but with more elaborate stories, the truth is that anger, for its explosive nature it’s difficult to maintain over time, no one can be angry forever, so it’s easier to represent it in cinema, an hour and a half or two of full-fledged anger is enough for a good movie, a series of 437 chapters on anger or with a main character moved by anger only are hardly justifiable ...

The Punisher is a character driven by anger justified by the murder of his family, but he’s a fictional character of Marvel, so, he can keep the anger coming while the creators of Marvel believe it convenient xD

To end with the series, a reference to one that also uses anger as an argument, a mixture between Seven and The silence of the lambs that I’m tasting at the moment and I’ll soon comment on my usual post of “Criticas by uno de Huesca”, but I already anticipate that I’ll be recommending it since it’s been very interesting so far, its name is “Slasher”.

And now i leave with a phrase from Cicero:

We are more sincere when we are angry than when we are calm.

I can also add that we’re more sincere when we’re drunk ... if it's worth anything xD
