Completed the workpiece
We got our hands on the work piece again. This time we had to work on the backside part. Now our hands were much sturdier working on the lathe machine. Our objective was to work on the piece and give it specific diameters and lengths. For the different diameters a process called turning is used in which the cutting tool is grazed with the surface of the work piece upto specific lengths. For different lengths facing is done. The cutting tool rotates throughout the face of the workpiece precisely shortening the length.
The before and after shots look considerably different. The safety precautions are immense we have to wear labcoats, gloves and goggles because the chips coming out are hot and may penetrate the skin. When we completed our work the satisfaction was unbelievable we had finally accomplished our goal. From next week we'll get another work piece and will start even more complex work on it. I feel quite excited for the next challenge.

I'm also an Civil engineering student from UET Lahore.
This workshop is made compulsory for all the engineerings in UET. By the way it's more related to mechanical I think.
