Back out of the top 20 again... it was nice, for as long as it lasted (1 week, lol). From the stats, I take with me that I should be limiting my comment length, and spread what I have to say over more comments than I do now.
1 self-vote, but it was a deliberate one. I can't exactly remember what comment of mine I upvoted, but I do remember I thought it was worth to give up my 0 self-vote score :0)

Thanks for the mention. I'm glad someone knew I might make it back to the Top 3 at some point. Hanging around in the Top 25 or lower has been my lot for quite a while. So, I know what that's like. :)
On a side note, since you bring it up, I don't know if would limit the characters per comments, but the issue becomes trying to write more comments versus writing more characters per comment. And of course, there's other factors involved.
We all do what we can do, right? My main thing has been trying to strike that balance between doing well in the league and seeing after my own objectives. Last week, I think I found that balance. This week, who knows? :)
Balance is still what I'm looking for, both on SteemIt and in 'real life'. In both cases, it appears there's still a long way to go :0)
Right now I'm actually focusing more on not getting demotivated by not finishing high up in the list, than on getting up higher in the list - if that makes any sense, lol
I know I'm doing what I can under the given circumstances, and that should be enough... if only I wasn't so competitive. That would make things a lot less complicated :0)
Glad to hear you've found the balance. Even if you don't next week, at least you have an idea how to find it again.
There is a sweet-spot between lots of comments vs lots of text - I've been trying for that for a long time and although not perfect, the scoring is getting there. This week though, I'm not sure if I need to tweak the comment length up a little...
