In addition to producing energy, burning fossil energy sources (petroleum, coal) also releases carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) which causes air pollution (acid rain, smog and global warming ) negative impact on the environment and health.
