RE: YouAreHOPE Foundation-Steem Exclusive Fully Transparent Global Humanitarian Aid

in #en6 years ago

I have a charity/foundation fraud piece in the works, (in mainstream charities) and the lack of transparency they exhibit, and the admin costs that suck up a lot of the donations. Donations that could be used where it was intended.

How does 'you are hope foundation' operate it's transparency audit, trail etc.?
Do you have set procedure, that kind of thing?

Are there any other charity set ups on here (steemit) you would recommend I chat to..?

cheers.

It's a good question and a valid one. Most charities are far more interested in covering their overhead and administrative costs first, and using whatever is left for a small fraction of the good they could be doing. We are completely transparent via the @youarehope wallet on https://steemit.com/@youarehope/transfers and via the Transparent Town Hall show Fridays at 11 PM UTC on https://steemstar.net.

We live on a blockchain. Our wallet is open for the entire world to see. A blockchain is a transparent ledger. It's impossible not to be transparent on a blockchain, that's the entire point.

I don't have a lot of time to track other people's projects, but several maintain an outpost channel or their primary channel (if they don't have their own discord elsewhere) in our Coalition of Causes area, so you might want to check those out. But none of them operate in the same countries, and most of them are not even organized "organizations" to scrutinize. Just individuals or collectives working together to get stuff done. You can do that here: https://discord.gg/CjcYS6Q

In the USA, for federally regulated stuff, this is all done by watchdogs like charity navigator and / or federal law. None of that applies to any of what any of us are doing though.
