It's built in the newest version of RPG Maker (MV) which let's me deploy for multiple platforms. I'm playing around with building an apk so I could put out a debug apk and people could try it if they want on android.
Looks like I'm going to be an NPC in Anumun! :D I wanted to go all out, but my money's all tied up for the meantime. Good thing @dreemit clued me in that STEEM was available currency for funding. Good luck with the game! Looks like it's going to be fun. And, if you need any help with the grunt work, I code as well, so just let me know if I could lend a helping hand.
Thanks for the support! It's kind of funny, coding is the part I felt like would be the biggest hurdle going into this, but it's still the art. I've never felt like an "artist," so even when I'm doing sprite edits and such it feels weird to me. Thanks for the offer and I'll keep it in mind!
Oh I'm using RPG Maker MV. The older versions are all Ruby, but MV is full JS, so it's kind of doubling to help me learn something I might can use for the chain later. :)
I'm definitely aiming for a retro feel, but that's mainly due to my limited artistic ability. :D I'm hoping for the next game I'll have custom tilesets, which will make sense for a different environment other than mostly forest. Thanks for checking it out.
Nice! Seems you and Cope both have ambitions to create your first game. I just watched your demo and in this amateurs eyes it looks very nice already :-) Just downloaded the demo, but I'll have to wait to try it out until I actually have some time left.
I really like your stated goal of making a true free to play game, and love the connection to, and expansion on the Steem Monsters card game; it's becoming a franchise of it's own already. I wonder, how long before someone writes a novel, a comic book, 3D prints toys or makes a board game. And wouldn't it be great if your game is the one to start all that as Steem Monsters first "official" spin-off?
Okay... getting ahead in dreamland here. Or am I..? 😏
I really hope this will be a success @clayboyn and wish you all the best (plus maybe 8 extra hours in a day) with the development! 🙏
LOL, it's crazy how fast time flies when working on this thing. Those are some lofty dreams, but I suppose time will tell where this goes, it would be awesome! Thanks for checking it out.
If you need any additional sound effects, let me know. I've got a whole library. I can always check to see if I have anything you might need if you specify it.
Awesome, I'll keep that in mind. This is my first project so it's very much a learning as I go thing. Doing the custom animations for the summons takes quite a bit of time, but so far I've just been using the stock sound effects to give them life. I have to make 3 more summons at least before this game is over with and if all goes well I want to make 5 more of these "mini" rpgs.
That's one of the reasons I made sure to set a scope for this game and plan to stick to it. I could easily see working on it for a year or two just fine tuning everything, or getting the meat and potatoes out there and cleaning it up as best as I can and letting people play it. I think my time frame and decent quality are realistic for a 5+ hour game.
Hey darling! I just checked out the fundition page- I don't see an end date on it? Here's the thing, I may need my liquid funds over the next month, which sucks royally, but our lucrative winter business starts mid November and I definitely want the NPC and the house haha- so tell me the date and if it's sooner than that than maybe we can work something out in chat :)
In all honesty, it doesn't really have an "end date" in site... I'm targeting the first game to be done in November, but if the community will keep supporting me and wants the games, I'll continue the fundition for the next game too. I think it's an interesting opportunity to actually learn something and work to benefit the platform and if people choose to support me while doing it, awesome! If not it's not a big deal. I don't want anyone giving anything they can't afford and I'm going to do my best to make this game happen either way. I'll still be around and trying to post some updates, so I look at it as collectively I have a goal of funding to keep me working as long as I can without having to focus on making money outside of crypto. Thanks for checking it out and I'm sure there's room for a Dreemit somewhere in the game. :)
Lovely ! Good Luck !
Is it built in RPG maker? It looks fun.

Hey, I just featured this post on the first version of my "Patch notes for #gaming" curation. Please check it out.

I'm a sucker for pixel art, but I've never learned how to draw it effectively haha! Mind if I ask what stack you're working with programming-wise?

That's cool. I've been knee deep in JS since last year, so I can appreciate its versatility. Definitely something you can use on the chain!
Reminds me of a game I had for the game gear years ago. Best of luck with it. When I gather up a few steem rewards I will back you.

This looks awesome! Is this your project?
It's my first game! Thanks for checking it out.
I sent a bit (like one meal) to the fundition too, I am excited to see the finished product.
Thanks for the support!

"Mini" is great, as long as you don't do the same mistake I did - leave a project for a new projet that will be left for another project.

Okay, I'll do this then- I'll pledge the 25 for now, and if it's still going when I can afford to I'll up it to the hundy:)
Going to try out the demo when I get home :)
That's awesome! Thanks for the support and I hope you like the demo.
this is SUCH a cool project, hats off to you clayboyn!
Thanks for checking it out! I'm planning to have the first game done by the end of November.
